Theresa was a Sacramento, California duo from the 80’s whose members consisted of Theresa King and Victor Porter. They were signed to Jay King (of Club Nouveau fame)’s record label, King Jay Records. In 1987, the duo released their debut album “Broken Puzzle” which peaked at #62 on Billboard’s R&B albums chart. The album was produced by Jay King, Thomas McElroy and Denzil Foster. Their first single “Last Time” peaked at #18 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 17 weeks, making it their only highest chart appearance on the R&B charts. The second single “Sweet Memories” peaked at #51 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.

The last single released from the album “What Cha Gonna Do” peaked at #66 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks

After that, it seemed as if Theresa had faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what Theresa and Victor are up to these days.
