leotisLeotis (born Leotis Clyburn in Brooklyn, New York) is a male R&B singer from the 80’s. In the ’80s, he provided vocals on albums by artists such as Tom Brown & Miki Howard.

In 1989, he released his debut album “On A Mission” on Mercury Records. The album peaked at #96 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart.

The title song peaked at #33 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. oohchildThe follow-up single “Ooh Child” peaked at #70 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.Another single “Who Loves You Better” was released, but didn’t make the Billboard charts at all.

During the ’90s, Leotis provided vocals on albums by artists such as Tanya Blout, Ten City and the O’Jays before seemingly fading into obscurity, but he worked for EMI Music Publishing before being reportedly laid off in 2012.
