Times Two was a pop\R&B duo that consisted of singer\keyboardists Shanti Jones and Johnny Dollar from Point Reyes, California. They were the opening act of Debbie Gibson’s “Out of the Blue” tour in 1988.
During that same year, Times Two released their debut album, “X2” which peaked at #137 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Their first single, “Strange But True” peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it their hit song to date.

The follow-up single, a cover version of Simon & Garfunkle’s song, “Cecilia” was released, but didn’t appear to chart at all on the Billboard charts.

Two years later in 1990, Times Two released the EP, “Danger is My Business” which didn’t chart at all and neither did the single, “Set Me Free.” After that, Times Two was no more.

Today, Shanti Jones is in a band called Sex & Reverb. Johnny Dollar now goes by the name “Giovanni De Morente” and he performs with El Radio Fantastique in the San Francisco bay area.
