Classic Example was a male R&B group from Boston, Massachusetts that consisted of members Darin Campbell, Jami Thompson, Gerald Alston, Marvin Harris and Bunny Rose.

In 1992, Classic Example released their self-titled debut album on Boston International Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever charted.

Their single “It’s Alright” peaked at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100, #30 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart and #53 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 16 weeks.

The song was featured on the “South Central” movie soundtrack and R&B group, The Boys provided background vocals for the song.

After that, it seemed as if Classic Example had faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.
