After her demo tape found its way to legendary music producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Angel signed to their label, Flyte Tyme Records in 1997. Her first single “Lil’ Red Boat” peaked at #104 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and #48 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. The song was a favorite in Chicago and in other markets. On July 2, 1998, Angel released her debut album “Album” which only peaked at #89 on Billboard’s R&B albums chart.
The follow-up single “Knockin'” flopped and after that, she was no longer signed to Flyte Time Records and nothing much was heard from her in quite some time.In 2010, Angel released her sophomore album “My Journey Back” which is now available on CD Baby & iTunes.
These days, she continues to sing and write songs along with working as a piloxing instructor, yoga instructor, prenatal yoga instructor and a reiki master.
