Karen Kamon (born Karen Ichiuji) is a female pop singer and actress. She appeared in an episode of “TJ Hooker” and provided an additional voice-over in the movie “Oliver & Company.” She was also friends with the late Karen Carpenter, of the Carpenters and was credited on their 1989 album, “Lovelines.”

In 1983, Karen released her first single, “Manhunt” which was featured on the “Flashdance” movie soundtrack. It’s unknown how or if the single ever charted. During that same year, Karen was featured on the “DC Cab” movie soundtrack with the song, “Squeeze Play.”

A year later in 1984, Karen released her debut album, “Heart of You” on CBS Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever charted.

The first single released from the album, “Loverboy” peaked at #88 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her only appearance on the chart. The follow-up single, a cover version of “Da Doo Ron Ron” failed to chart at all.

In 1987, Karen released her sophomore album, “Voices” on ATCO Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever charted.

Two singles, “Give a Little Love” and “Strange Way” were released, but failed to make the charts at all. Today, Karen is married to record producer Phil Ramone.
