Antoinette (born Antoinette Jailene Williams in 1970 in Queens, New York) was a female hip-hop rapper from the late 80’s\early 90’s.

She made her first musical appearance in 1987 on music producer Hurby Azor’s compliation album, “Hurby’s Machine” with the single, “I Got an Attitude.” In 1988, Antoinette released her second single, “Unfinished Business.”

On June 30, 1989, Antoinette released her debut album, “Who’s the Boss?” which peaked at #47 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. The album was produced by I.G. Off, Jay Ellis, and the Ultramagnetic MC’s. The first single, “Shake, Rattle & Roll” failed to make any impact on the charts.

The follow-up singles “Baby Make it Boom,” “I’m Crying,” and the title song also failed to make any impact on the Billboard charts.

On May 30, 1990, Antoinette released her sophomore and last album to date, “Burnin’ at 20 Below” which peaked at #66 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. The album was produced by DJ Doc, Kurtis Mantronik, Ellis Ray, and Kenni Hairston.

The three singles released from the album, “She Operates Around the Clock,” “Never Get Enough,” and “I Wanna Be Me” failed to chart. After that, it seemed as if Antoinette has faded into obscurity.
