Solo is an R&B group from Brooklyn, New York that originally consisted of members Eunique Mack, Darnell Chavis, Daniele Stokes and Robert Anderson.

Eunique, Darnell, and Daniele were discovered singing on the streets by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Robert was later added to the group to make them a quartet.

Solo originally had a fifth member, James Smith, who passed away after the group met Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and were signed a record deal. They dedicated an interlude to him on their debut album.

In 1995, Solo released their self-titled debut album which peaked at #52 on the Billboard 200 and #8 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. Their first single, “Heaven” peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100, #19 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #7 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 28 weeks. The follow-up single from the album, “Where Do U Want Me To Put It” peaked at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100, #3 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #8 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 23 weeks. The last single, “He’s Not Good Enough” peaked at #121 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and #50 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 15 weeks. In 1998, Solo released their sophomore album, “4 Bruthas and a Bass” which peaked at #123 on the Billboard 200 and #25 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. The only single to chart was, “Touch Me” which peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #26 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 16 weeks.

After Perspective Records closed down, Solo went their separate ways, focusing on other various projects.

As of 2011, Solo has reunited with only Darnell, Daniele and Robert. They are currently working on new music. Eunique Mack is no longer a part of the group and has moved on to a solo career.

He released his first album “Make it Real Hot” in 2000 on his own record label, Mackability Records. His follow-up album “Can’t Wait” has yet to be released.
