The Conway Brothers were an R&B band from Chicago, Illinois that consisted of brothers Hutson (who sang and played bass), James (who played guitar), Fredrick (who played keyboards) and Hiawatha (who played drums).

In 1983, they released their first single “Get Live\Over and Over Again” on DEM Records. It’s unknown how or if the single ever charted.

In 1985, their single “Turn it Up” peaked at #81 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks. In the United Kingdom, the song peaked at #11 on the U.K. Singles chart, making it their highest chart appearance to date.

A year later, their debut album “Turn it Up!” was released on PBT Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever made the charts.

Another single “Raise the Roof” peaked at #77 on the U.K. Singles chart and #81 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.In 1987, the Conway Brothers released their sophomore album “Lady in Red” which didn’t appear to make the charts just like their debut album.

The second single “I Can’t Fight It” peaked at #84 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks. justwantyourbodyThe third single “I Just Want Your Body” was released, but didn’t go anywhere on the charts. After that, it seemed as if the Conway Brothers have faded into obscurity.
