3 Shades Brown were a 90s R&B\hip-hop trio that consisted of former Jesse Johnson backup singer, Kim Cage, rapper Christi Thornton and backup singer, Leah Johnson. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Interscope Records. In 1992, the trio released their only album, “Stronger Than Strong” which managed to peak at #98 on Billboard’s Top R&B\Hip-Hop Albums chart in June of that same year.

They released only one single, “Nasty Bass” which went nowhere on the charts and after that, it seemed as if 3 Shades Brown has faded into obscurity.
