The Nation Funktasia was a hip-hop/funk music band from the Bay Area in California that consisted of members Bambi (born Susan Verdejo), Ink Penn (born Thomas Anthony Penn), Coool Aid (born Von Carter) and E Equals Theory (born Eric Burn). In 1991, the band released their only album “In Search Of The Last Trump Of Funk” on EastWest Records America. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all. The first single from the album “Anti Funky World” peaked at #46 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks. The follow-up single “Move Me” peaked at #88 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 3 weeks.
After that, it seemed as if the Nation Funktasia faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.
