imageChill Factor was an R&B trio from Chicago, Illinois that consisted of vocalist Ruben Locke, guitarist Rico McFarland and keyboardist Gregg Owen.
imageIn 1987, they released their self-titled (and only) debut album on Warner Bros. Records. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.
imageThe first single “Conversation” peaked at #88 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 3 weeks.
imageThe follow-up single “Never My Love” peaked at #62 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.

After that, it seemed as if Chill Factor faded into obscurity. These days, Rico is a blues musician while it’s unknown what Ruben & Gregg are up to.
