imageLadae were a male R&B group from Brooklyn, New York that consisted of Darren Benbow, Chris Kellam, LaQuentis Saxton and Levar Wilson.

They were discovered by former Uptown Records executive James Maynes who helped the group during their demo process which helped them secure their first record deal with Polydor\Island Records. imageIn 1994, Ladae released their debut album “The Moment.” It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.
imageThe first single from the album “Bye Bye” didn’t appear to make the Billboard music charts at all.
imageThe follow-up single “Deep Down” peaked at #92 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 4 weeks.

Due to misunderstandings about their creative freedom, Ladae left their record label.

In 1996, Ladae met Al B. Sure and got a record deal with his label, Absolute Records (which was under Andre Harrell’s Motown Records). imageDuring that same year, they released their self-titled sophomore album which didn’t appear to make the Billboard album charts.
imageTheir highest chart appearance to date was the single “Party 2 Nite” which peaked at #107 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, #25 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #44 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 17 weeks.
imageTheir follow-up single “Baby Hold On” failed to make the Billboard charts at all After that, it seems as if Ladae has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since the ’90s.
