Tene Williams (born Tiffany Williams in Harlem, New York) is a female R&B singer from the ’90s. She became interested in music when she was 3 years old.
She won three times at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night. When she was 16, she was offered a record deal with Apollo Records, but decided to finish up her education. In 1993, Tene released her self-titled debut album on Pendelum Records. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.
Her first single “Give Him A Love He Can Feel” peaked at #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #30 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks.
The follow-up single from the album “Just a Matter of Time” failed to make the charts at all. After Pendelum Records failed to support her, Tene left the music business to focus on her religious beliefs. In 2011, Tene made a comeback to the music scene, releasing the single “Your Love Completes Me.” She is married to Kyle Bynoe (who was one of the producers on her debut album).
Tene is the president of her own record label Sierra Music Group and her husband is the CEO of the record label.
She is also a praise & worship leader in her church along with writing an advice book called “Don’t Do It!”
Tene’s sophomore album “Brave” was scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2011. As of 2013, she has completed the album, but the release date is yet to be announced.
