image Isyss (which stands for “Intelligent Sexy Young Soul Sisters”) was an R&B girl group from Los Angeles, California that consisted of lead singer Quierra Davis-Martin, La’Myia Good (born on September 27, 1979 & is the older sister of actress Meagan Good), LeTecia Harrison and Ardena Clark. imageIn 2002, they released their debut single “Day & Night” (featuring rapper Jadakiss) which peaked at #98 on the Billboard Hot 100, #34 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart & #52 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 17 weeks.

imageOn September 24, 2002, Isyss released their debut (and only) album “The Way We Do” on Arista Records.

The album peaked at #55 on the Billboard 200 and #12 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart & sold about 300,000 copies. imageThe group’s follow-up single “Single for the Rest of My Life” peaked at #71 on the Billboard Hot 100 (making it their only highest appearance on the Hot 100), #7 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart and #62 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 18 weeks.

Isyss performed the theme song to the BET Network talk show “Oh Drama.” They were also the spokespersons for hair care products called “Got 2 B So Smooth.”

The group was also nominated for two Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Awards (and won one of them).

Due to poor album sales, Isyss was later dropped from their record label before releasing a sophomore album. Ardena was replaced by a new member named Love, but they shortly broke up due to creative differences.

La’Myia and Love went on to form an R&B trio called Bad Gyrl. Despite releasing several videos & songs online, they never released an album & eventually split up.

These days, La’Myia is focusing on her acting career. She is known for her voice-over work in the PlayStation 3 video game “Killzone 3.”

Quierra is pursuing a solo music career. LeTecia has her own fashion line and continues to work on music.

Ardena is studying politics & got married in 2011. It’s unknown what Love is up to these days.
