imageYasmeen (born Yasmeen Sulieman in Oakland, California) is a female R&B\dance singer.

She was raised in Hawaii & her brother is actor Sterling Sulieman. Yasmeen has toured with the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” & appeared on the UPN television show “Half & Half.”

In 2002, Yasmeen was signed to Magic Johnson’s record label, Magic Johnson Music\MCA Records. imageDuring that same year, she released the single “Blue Jeans” which peaked at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100, #22 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart and #53 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 17 weeks.

imageAlso in that same year, Yasmeen released her debut album “When Will It Be Me” in Japan, but possibly due to the low chart performance of “Blue Jeans,” the album was shelved in the United States.

After that, not much was heard from Yasmeen until July of 2007 when she joined children’s musical group Hi-5 after one of the members (Karla Mosley) left the group to pursue other interests. image

imageIn 2009, Yasmeen signed with Strictly Rhythm\Defected Records, recording a few dance singles such as “Ready or Not,” “Gone” and “Rise.”

In 2012, she joined musician Erik Machado (also known as Alias Rhythm) as a duo called Rose Rouge. They released their EP “Steady.”

These days, Yasmeen continues to be active in the entertainment business.

In 2014, she joined the cast of Broadway’s “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” and also appears on the soundtrack.
