Sarina Paris (born on December 22, 1973 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a female dance-pop singer.
She grew up in Toronto in a working-class Italian family. In 1995, Sarina released her debut single “Mystery Man” in Canada only. In 1996, she moved to Italy after the death of her mother to get in touch with her roots.
While in Italy, Sarina met producer\manager Vince Tempera who invited her to become a member of the Gam Gam Project alongside other producers Max Monti and Mauro Pilato in Rimini, Italy which aimed at teaching Italian kids to sing in the English language.
A year later, Sarina moved to Milan where she worked as a receptionist at a CX music publishing & production company where she was discovered by Charlie Marchino & Nico Spinosa (of EMI Records’ Italian music division) and began her music career.
In 2000, she released her debut single “Look at Us” which peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100, #8 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, #23 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, #31 on Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream chart and #29 on Billboard’s Top 40 Tracks chart. It was also an international dance club hit.
Due to the success of “Look At Us,” Sarina was signed to Priority Records in the United States.
In May of 2001, she released her self-titled debut album which peaked at #167 on the Billboard 200 and #9 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
The follow-up single “Just About Enough” was released as a club-exclusive single and was a moderately successful dance hit. During that same year, “Look at Us” was nominated for a Juno Award in the “Best Dance Recording” category.
Sarina released another dance track called “This is My Life” which featured on a Canadian dance compliation album “Euro Mix 5” on SPG Records.
In 2003, Sarina released the single “You Are My Valentine” which is available on “EuroBeats Vol. 3” only. In May of 2004, she toured with singer La Toya Jackson in various parts on Hawaii.
After that, not much was heard from Sarina until 2011 when she released the single “Sophisticated” which is said to be the first single from her second album which has yet to be released.
