niveaNivea (born Nivea B. Hamilton on March 24, 1982 in Savannah, Georgia) is a female R&B singer.

Nivea first sang in a church choir and in 2000, she made her first appearance in the music business by appearing on rapper Mystikal’s song “Danger (Been So Long)”. She was later signed to Jive Records.
dont mess with radioIn May of 2001, she released her debut single “Don’t Mess With the Radio” which peaked at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100, #25 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart and #85 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks. It was also moderately successful in Australia, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.
nivea self-titledIn September of that same year, Nivea released her self-titled debut album which peaked at #80 on the Billboard 200, #35 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart and topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
runawayThe second single from the album “Run Away (I Wanna Be With U)” (featuring rapper Pusha T) peaked at #48 on the U.K. Singles chart and #47 on the ARIA Singles chart in Australia.
dont mess with my manThe third single “Don’t Mess With My Man” (featuring Brian & Brandon Casey from R&B group Jagged Edge) became a hit for Nivea, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, #4 on Billboard’s Top 40 Tracks & Top 40 Mainstream chart, #5 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart and #25 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 32 weeks. It also peaked at #42 on the U.K. Singles chart.
laundromatThe last single from the album “Laundromat” (featuring R. Kelly) peaked at #58 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #20 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks.

In February of 2002, Nivea began dating rapper Lil Wayne and in December of that same year, they got engaged, but in August of 2003, Lil Wayne called off the engagement & became engaged to the mother of his daughter.
25reasonsIn 2003, one of the songs from her debut album “25 Reasons” peaked at #104 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
you like it like thatIn 2004, Nivea married music producer Terius “The-Dream” Nash. During that same year, she released the single “You Like It Like That” (featuring rapper Rasheeda) which peaked at #86 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 3 weeks.okayAlso in that same year, Nivea released the lead single from her next album “Okay” (featuring Lil’ Jon and YoungBloodZ) which peaked at #40 on the Billboard Hot 100, #16 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, #46 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart, #32 on Billboard’s Pop 100 Airplay chart and #14 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 27 weeks.
complicatedIn 2005, she released her sophomore album “Complicated” which peaked at #37 on the Billboard 200 and #9 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. Due to Nivea’s pregnancy with her first child, the promotional plans for the album were put on hold.

In May of that same year, Nivea gave birth to her daughter Navy Talia. By the time of her daughter’s birth, Jive Records canceled the release of the album’s follow-up singles “Parking Lot” and “Complicated.” After that, Nivea requested to be released from Jive Records.
animalisticIn 2006 (after taking a break from the music business to care for her daughter), Nivea released her third album “Animalistic” in Japan. There were plans to release the album in the United States, but they never materialized. In April of that same year, she gave birth to twin sons Christian & London.

In December of 2007, Nivea and The-Dream divorced after two years of marriage. She later reconciled with rapper Lil Wayne and in November of 2009, she gave birth to their son, Neal Carter. During that same year, it was rumored that they were engaged, but by June of 2010, they broke it off.
undercoverAfter taking time off to care for her children, Nivea returned to the music business in early 2010 with a remix of Timbaland & Drake’s song “Say Something” featuring Rasheeda. In September of 2011, she released her first mixtape “Nivea Undercover”.
loudbluntIn November of 2013, Nivea released a buzz single called “Loud Blunt” which is available on iTunes. These days, she still continues to be active with her music career and is planning on releasing two albums on her own record label in the near future.
