Dear Jayne was a female R&B girl group from the mid to late-2000s that was assembled by manager\executive producer Anthony “T.A.” Tate (who worked with artists such as J. Holiday, Teairra Mari and Ciara). The original line-up consisted of Ashley (from Los Angeles, California), Jasmine (from Cocoa Beach, Florida) and Lindsey (from Atlanta).
In the summer of 2007, Dear Jayne released their debut single “Talkin’ Bout Himself” which managed to generate some buzz, but it’s unknown how or if the single ever charted at all.
The follow-up single “Rain” managed to peak at #99 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Songs chart, staying on the chart for only a week in 2008.
During that same year, the group released another single “Fall Back” (featuring The Dream), but it didn’t appear to chart at all. The group’s debut album “Voice Message” was supposed to be released in March of 2008 on Capitol Records, but it ended up being shelved.
Lindsey would later leave the group and was replaced by singer Emori Campbell. After their album was shelved, nothing much was heard from Dear Jayne until about 2011 when they announced on their Twitter account that they were working on new music, but since then, nothing much has been heard about it and it appears as if Dear Jayne has faded into obscurity.
