Gyrlz Society was a girl group from the 2000s that consisted of members Amy Correa (born in Mission Hills, California), Melissa Tessmer, Katy Scanlan and Tynisha Soares (born Tynisha Keli Soares on July 28, 1985 in New Bedford, Massachusetts).

In 2002, the group released their only single “Respect Me” (which was produced by Damon Jones) on MCA Records. The song failed to make any appearances on any music charts whatsoever.

Gyrlz Society’s debut album was supposed to be released around 2003, but due to unknown reasons, the album was cancelled and the group disbanded.

Tynisha Soares (now also known as Tynisha Keli) went on to pursue a solo career and has released two albums in 2009 and 2010.

These days, Amy Correa has an active career as an actress and in 2004, she married singer Ricky Bell (of New Edition and Bel Biv DeVoe). Amy has also performed with bands such as SterlingandAmy and Hot Natured. She is also the founder and director of a non-profit organization called Lovermovement.

It’s currently unknown what Melissa Tessmer and Katy Scanlan are up to these days.
