Dana Glover (born on October 14, 1974 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina) is a female pop singer-songwriter & pianist from the 2000s.
Dana resided in Asheville, North Carolina as a child and when she was 16 years old, she went to Manhattan, New York to pursue a modeling career. At the age of 18, she decided to pursue a career in music and first became a piano player in Nashville, Tennessee and then later in Los Angeles, California.
In 2001, Dana recorded the song “Plan On Forever” which was featured on the soundtrack to the Jennifer Lopez film “The Wedding Planner” and was later featured on the soundtrack to the film “Shrek” with the song “It Is You (I Have Loved).”
In October of 2002, she released her debut album “Testimony” on DreamWorks Records. It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all in the United States, but it managed to peak at #43 on the U.K. Albums chart.
The lead single from the album “Thinking Over” peaked at #17 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, #22 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart and #38 on the U.K. Singles chart. The follow-up single “Rain” peaked at #30 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.
After that, Dana appeared on various soundtracks for films such as “Two Weeks Notice,” “Laws of Attraction” and “Blueprint.” In 2010, she was featured on saxophonist Dave Koz’s album “Hello Tomorrow” on the track “Start All Over Again.”
In 2012, Dana arranged & sang vocals on four tracks on Leonard Cohen’s album “Old Ideas” and was featured on his 2014 album “Popular Problems.” These days, she appears to still be active in the music business & in 2016, she was featured on another one of Leonard Cohen’s albums “You Want it Darker.”
