hepburnHepburn was a female British pop-rock band whose members consisted of vocalist Jamie Benson (born on September 27, 1978 from Bognor Regis, England), guitarist Lisa Lister (born on July 24, 1981 from Worlington, England), bassist Sarah Davies (born on January 22, 1981 from Mansfield, England) and drummers Beverley Fullen (born on October 9, 1978 from Sunderland, England), Lisa Gordon (born on January 5, 1980 from Walsall, West Midlands in England) & Tasha Baylis (born on December 27, 1974 from London, England). The group’s name was inspired by actress Audrey Hepburn.

The band began in 1997 when Jamie Benson met Lisa Lister at a party. Beverley Fullen knew Jamie from music school and Sarah Davies was added into the group to complete the line-up.
i quitIn May of 1999, Hepburn released their debut single “I Quit” which peaked at #8 on the U.K. Singles chart. The song was written by Phil Thornalley (who had gained success writing Natalie Imbruglia’s hit song “Torn”).

A music video was released along with the single and later in the year, a new video for the song was made using scenes from the TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (which included scenes of the band on the sets of the show and the band acting like vampires). Although the song never appeared on the “Buffy” TV show, it was featured on its television soundtrack.
bugsIn August of 1999, the band released their second single “Bugs” which peaked at #14 on the U.K. Singles chart.
hepburn1999During that same year, they released their only self-titled album on Columbia Records which peaked at #28 on the U.K. Albums chart. A month later, Beverley Fullen left Hepburn and was replaced by Lisa Gordon who was later replaced by Tasha Bayliss.
deep deep downIn February of 2000, Hepburn released their third (and ultimately last) single “Deep Deep Down” which peaked at #16 on the U.K. Singles chart. In the summer of that same year, the band broke up after being dropped from their record label.

After Hepburn came to an end, Jamie Benson released a solo album in 2002 called “Jamie Benson – My Confession.” After that, nothing much was heard from her and it seems as if she has faded into obscurity.

These days, Sarah Davies works as Detective Constable with the Nottinghamshire Police. Beverley Fullen works a DJ for 96.4 Eagle Radio’s Breakfast Show (which broadcasts throughout Surrey and Hampshire, England).

Tasha Bayliss appears to still be active in the music business and has appeared on music act Glass Pear’s 2010 EP “Sweet America.” As for Lisa Lister and Lisa Gordon, it’s unknown what they are up these days and they have also seemingly faded into obscurity.
