She first began singing when she was 9 years old, won her first talent show when she was 11 years old and at the age of 15, she performed in the Hal Jackson Talented Teen Competition where she shared the stage with a young Johnny Gill. She later went on to win numerous talent shows and even won on “Showtime at the Apollo” twice in 1988.

In 1993, Veronica Lynn signed a record deal with RCA Records affiliate label, PMD Records (with the help of her Southern CT State University classmate, Parrish Smith, who is a member of rap group EPMD). She has collaborated with various artists such as Lalah Hathaway, Gerald Levert, Shirley Murdock & Roger Troutman.
