During that same year, she won a karaoke contest at the Acapulco restaurant in Downey, California which led to her deciding to pursue a solo music career. Later that year, she met with Juan Lopez (also known as “DJ Juanito”), a popular DJ in Los Angeles, California and the owner of the Groove Nation Records label.
Juanito produced and recorded Lina’s debut single, “Feels So Good (Show Me Your Love)” in less than five hours. The song quickly became a hit, hitting #1 in Los Angeles. The song peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.

In 1997, a re-recorded version of Lina’s song, “Cutie Pie” (without hip-hop group, Delinquent Habits being featured on it) was scheduled to be released in January of that same year, but for unknown reasons, those plans were ultimately scrapped. Afterwards, she was dropped from her record label.
In 2007, Lina provided vocals to two of Monteloco’s songs, “Hot Mami” and “Girlz Nite Out”. In 2017, she teamed up with producer Randy Taylor-Weber and Lenny Ruckus to release a single called “Mi Amor”.

Since then, Lina hasn’t released any new music and it is currently unknown if she is still active with her music career.
