Juice

Juice was a female R&B group from Denmark that formed in 1995 and originally consisted of Anne Rani, Lena Tahara and Maria Hamer (born Maria Jensen on May 13, 1978 in Denmark).
In 1997, the group released their debut album “Something to Feel” which sold 40,000 copies.
Their first single “I’ll Come Running” peaked at #48 on the U.K. Singles chart and also charted on the Danish Singles chart.
Juice’s follow-up single “Best Days” peaked at #28 on the U.K. Singles chart and also charted on the Danish Singles chart. In 1998, Lena Tahara left the group and was replaced by singer Eve Horner.
In 1999, Juice released their sophomore album “Can We Get Personal?”. It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all.
During that same year, they were featuring on a song called “Let Love Be Love” (which also featured S.O.A.P., Christina Undhjem featuring Remee) and managed to peak at #18 on the Danish Singles chart.

Three songs from their second album “Do It For U, “Not in Love” and “My Love” were released as singles, but it’s unknown how or if they charted at all. In August of 2000, Juice disbanded.

Maria Hamer went on to release a solo album called “My Soul” in 2003 and continues to be active in music as well as acting these days.

Anne Rani continues to be active in the music business as a singer, songwriter & composer and currently performs with musician\producer Lasse Illinton under the name Sadja Ran.

It’s unknown what Lena Tahara and Eve Horner are up to these days.

Menace Clan

Menace Clan was a hip-hop duo from South Central Los Angeles, California that consisted of Dante “Dee” Miller and Walter “Assassin” Adams.

After signing a record deal with Rap-A-Lot Records, they appeared on albums by hip-hop artists Poppa LQ & Bushwick Bill (who is a member of rap group, the Geto Boys) and contributed a verse to the All-Star track “The Points.”
In October of 1995, the Menace Clan released their debut (and only) album “Da Hood” which peaked at #44 on Billboard’s Top R&B\Hip-Hop Albums chart and #33 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.

The two singles released from the album “Da Hood” and “What You Say” failed to make any impact on the music charts at all.

After that, the Menace Clan continued to stay with their record label, appearing on the Geto Boys’ album “The Resurrection” and rapper Scarface’s album “My Homies” before leaving in 1998.

The duo’s last musical appearance was on artist D-Red’s album “Smokin’ & Lean’n 2000” and Dante was featured on rapper Lil’ Flip’s underground debut album “The Leprechaun.”

After that, nothing much was heard from the Menace Clan and it appears as if they have faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what Dee and Assassin are up to these days.

MQ3

MQ3 was a short-lived female R&B trio from the late ’90s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Virgin Records.
In 1997, they released their only single “Everyday” which was written & produced by music producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and co-written by Chris Stokes and Juanita Carter (also known as Smooth).

It’s unknown how or if the single made the charts at all, but the music video received some airplay on the BET network.

After that, it seems as if MQ3 has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since the ’90s.

K-Ball

K-Ball (born Kelli Ball from Los Angeles, California) is a female R&B\hip-hop\urban soul singer from the late ’90s. She was discovered by music producer Chris Stokes and was a back-up singer for R&B group Immature.
In 1997, she released her debut single “Do It On the Upside” on Warner Bros. Records which didn’t appear to make any music charts at all.
A promotional single “Everything’s Alright” was released, but like the previous single, it appeared to have never made any music charts at all.

During that same year, K-Ball’s debut album “On My Way” was released in Germany (according to Discogs.com), but it was never officially released in the United States (although promotional copies of the album also appear on Discogs.com).

After that, K-Ball went on to write & produce songs for other artists such as R&B group Damozel. These days, it’s unknown what’s she’s up to and it appears as if K-Ball faded into obscurity.

Damozel

Damozel was a female R&B quartet from the 2000s that originally consisted of vocalists Brandy Merchelle (from Los Angeles, California), Tasha Goodner (from Indianapolis, Indiana), Lisa Ball (from Los Angeles, California) and Tamisha Lotterberry (from Denver, Colorado). Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to MCA Records.
In 2000, the quartet released their debut single “You Don’t Know Me Like That” (featuring hip-hop artist Rah Digga), but it failed to chart at all.

Their debut album was supposed to be released some time during that same year, but after their first single flopped, it was re-tooled and scheduled to be released the following year.
In 2001, Damozel released their follow-up single “Everyday’s a Party” which also failed to chart as well, but it was featured on the soundtrack to the film “Two Can Play That Game.”
The quartet’s debut album “You Don’t Know Me Like That” was presumably shelved, although promotional copies appear on Discogs.com.

They were nominated for a Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Award in 2002 for “Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist, Group, Band or Duo” for their second single, but they lost to Destiny’s Child.

After that, it seemed as if Damozel faded in obscurity, but around January of 2011, they re-appeared in the music scene as a duo consisting of Tasha Goodner & Lisa Ball and released new music on their Reverbnation page, but as of 2014, nothing much has been heard from them.

G. Dep

G. Dep (born Trevell Gerald Coleman on November 19, 1973 in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, New York) is a male rapper from the 2000s. His stage name is short for “Ghetto Dependent”.

Growing up, G. Dep was raised by his grandmother in the James Weldon Johnson Housing Projects. After meeting Sean “Diddy” Combs in 1998, he was signed to a $350,000 five-album deal with Bad Boy Records. In 1999, he was featured on two tracks on Black Rob’s album “Life Story.”
In 2001, he released his debut album “Child of the Ghetto” which peaked at #106 on the Billboard 200 and #23 on Billboard’s Top R&B\Hip-Hop Albums chart.
His first single “Let’s Get It” (featuring P. Diddy and Black Rob) peaked at #80 on the Billboard Hot 100, #5 on Billboard’s Rap Singles chart & #18 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks and became G. Dep’s only appearance on the Hot 100 chart to date.
The follow-up single “Special Delivery” missed the Billboard Hot 100, but managed to peak at #59 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks. Due to the less than stellar sales of G. Dep’s debut album, he was dropped from Bad Boy Records.

After the release of his debut album, G. Dep struggled with an addiction to PCP and had been convicted & served time in prison for robbery. Since 2003, he had been arrested for not only robbery, but also for drug offenses & grand larceny.
In 2007, G. Dep and rapper Loon released a collaboration album called “Bad Boy” on Siccness Records. It’s unknown how successful the album was.
In 2010 (nine years after his debut album was released), he released his sophomore album “Ghetto Legend” on Famous Records.

In December of that same year, G. Dep turned himself into authorities where he confessed to murdering a man in Queens in 1993. In May of 2011, he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the murder.

Cheri Dennis

Cheri Dennis (born on August 23, 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a female R&B singer who was signed to Bad Boy Records in the 2000s. She was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Before going solo, Cheri was a member of a music group called Spoiled. After Spoiled disbanded, she moved to New York where she began her recording career.

In the late ’90s, she provided vocals for rapper Mase’s album “Double Up”, was featured on albums for Puff Daddy (now called Diddy) & was featured on several mixtapes.
In 2004, Cheri released her debut single “Freak”. It’s unknown how or if the single made any music charts at all.
A year later in 2005, she released the single “I Love You” which peaked at #38 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart in 2006, staying on the chart for 22 weeks, becoming her highest charting single on the Billboard charts to date.
Her follow-up single “Portrait of Love” (featuring rappers Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe) peaked at #55 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 15 weeks.

Originally, the song was released under the title “Portrait” featuring only Yung Joc, but after it was leaked, the song title was changed & Gorilla Zoe was added to the song.
In November 2007, Cheri’s debut album “In and Out of Love” was released exclusively on iTunes and the physical album was released in February of 2008 where it peaked at #74 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on Billboard’s R&B\Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The third single from the album “Pretend” (featuring hip-hop artist Maino) flopped and only peaked at #116 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. Another song from the album “Ooh Ooh” peaked at #116 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles due to high download sales.

After that, nothing much was heard from Cheri and it appeared as if she seemingly faded into obscurity, but these days, she still continues to be active in the music business, performing under the name Cheri Coke.

Eloise Whitaker

Eloise Whitaker was a female R&B\dance singer from the ’80s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Destiny Records.
In 1981, she released her self-titled debut album. It’s unknown how or if the album charted.
Eloise’s only single “Don’t Turn Your Back On Love” peaked at #18 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart.

After that, it appears as if she has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since the ’80s.

The B.U.M.S.

The B.U.M.S. (which is an acronym for Brothas Unda Madness) were a hip-hop music duo from Oakland, California that consisted of rappers D-Wyze (whose real name D’Angelo Smith) & E-Vocalist (whose real name is Evol Alexander).
In 1994, they released their debut single “Elevation (Free My Mind)” which peaked at #92 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 2 weeks.
A year later in 1995, the duo released their only album “Lyfe ‘N’ Time” which failed to chart on the Billboard 200 or any other album charts.
Their follow-up single “Take A Look Around” also flopped and after that, it seems as if the B.U.M.S. have faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what E-Vocalist & D-Wyze are up to these days.

Symba

Symba was an R&B group from Washington, D.C. that was led by singers Gerald Holland & Sheryl Hawkins and featured members Michael Jones, Robert Lewis & Rodney Washington.
In 1980, the group released their only album to date “Body Bait” on Venture Records. It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all.
The first single from the album “Hold On” peaked at #70 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.
Their follow-up single “Hey You” fared better, peaking at #55 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. It was also featured as one of Billboard magazine’s “Top Single Picks” in the soul music category.

After that, it seems as if Symba has faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what the members of the group are up to these days.
