The title of my name says it all.
I am a fan of 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s music, ranging from pop, R&B, dance, hip-hop and freestyle. I also like television, pop culture and hockey.
I started the blog in April of 2008 and 16 years later, it’s still up and running with no intention of slowing down.
I love music, I’ve always loved music and I still will for as long as I live.
[updated in April of 2024]
Great blog. your taste and knowledge of music is amazing

Peace and Harmony
Nice blog. Extremely informative. I came in search of a song I heard twice in the 90s, but no luck! I did find a few songs I havent heard in a long time though! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Know-It-All, I’d love to see a post about Faze, the group that sang “Cold Sweat.” Could you do something on them? Thanks!
Of course. I might have to do some research on them, but there will be a post about them soon.
Thanks for the blog. You’ve brought back many of the older songs that were going unnoticed.

Thank you, JJ. Glad you like the blog.
This blog is amazing! Thank you for uploading some artists that i’ve sometimes never heard of! Is it ok if you do a blog post about 3rd Faze who sang ”Shy” and The Slumber Party Girls. I’ve like some of there stuff. 😉
Thank you, Discontinued Toy Lines. I will keep those in mind for my future blog entries.
This is one interesting blog! I really love music and I really like that you blog about mostly artists that never made it big. We do have some musicians that never became popular here in London, which is sad because I used to really listen to a lot of them, even the most popular ones. I’d like see a blog post on Ellie Campbell, Precious and Fe-M@il. I heard that Fe-M@il and Ellie Campbell were signed to the same record label that Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys were signed. Jive Records! Precious actually had Jenny Frost (A former member of Atomic Kitten) as a member before she joined with Atomic Kitten. Would you please do a blog post on those three because I would love to see it! Ellie Campbell used to be one my favourite artists as a little girl along with Britney Spears.
Ellie England, thank you for the positive comment and I will keep your suggestions in mind for future blog enties.
Sincerely, The Music-Know-It-All
Thank you sweetheart 🙂
Love, Ellie England
Have you any information about this R&B collective from the 90s? https://www.allmusic.com/artist/pov-mn0000000775
Yes, I do. Here is the link: https://rareandobscuremusic.wordpress.com/2014/02/22/p-o-v/
I also love music from the 80s and the 90s and the early 2000s! So glad I found this blog! You’re doing such a good job! Today I discovered an artist from the 90s I really liked and I’m trying to track down his music on the Internet! Thank you! I’ll continue to read this awesome blog! Have a wonderful day! Much love from Argentina! ❤❤❤🇦🇷
Hey there. Have you heard the news about Sweet Sable? https://twitter.com/naima/status/1249083563821187074?s=19
I know you did a post about her on your blogspot page.
I’ve been following your blog for the longest time and during this lockdown I FINALLY have the chance to write you. I am curious to know if any of the artists that you covered in your blog have responded to you personally to update information? Also, are you involved in any podcast or videos to spotlight the artists? Have you considered it? I think it would be more valuable than BET Unsung because your blog covers a broader range.
I’m glad that you enjoy my blog. To answer your first question if any of the artists that I have covered in my blog responded to me personally to update information, some of them have done that. To answer your second question, I have not been involved in any podcasts or videos. I haven’t considered those options, but I don’t know if I’m interested in it or not. Thank you for visiting my blog.
Hi, I’ve been looking for a group that issued a record, I believe late 70s, early 80s. I can’t remember the name, but what I do remember, was one song titled “undercover lover ” and another song was “the loot” I may be a little off with the titles, but those words were definitely there, either in the title or in the lirycs. Some of the music in the album were very good. They were a soft rock band. Would be possible you might have heard of it or maybe help me find that? So far, I’ve checked in many places on the internet.
Hi,
Have you heard of Tsuyoshi Fujimori? He was a former Gagaku musician who lived the last years of his life in isolation and without leaving his apartment in the busy ward of Shibuya, Tokyo.

Thought you might like it. Thanks for your blog.
While I appreciate the suggestion, I am afraid that this artist does not fit into the genres of music that I cover on my music blog.
You have to do an article on London Jones!
It has already been done on the Blogspot version of Rare and Obscure Music: http://musicrareobscure.blogspot.com/2012/05/london-jones.html
Can you make the history of the change band who sung paradise or the glow of love i want to know how many weeks there songs stay on the charts
I will keep that in mind for a future blog entry.
May I suggest an artist? The Norwegian boy band “Midnight Sons”.
The band auditioned for Eurovision at the Melodi Grand Prix 1999 with their song “Stay”, placing second.
Their song “If Only Tears Could Bring You Back” was featured in the credits of “Pokémon: The First Movie”.
In February 1999, the band signed a $500 thousand recod deal with Lava Records.
The band members were Vidar Jørgensen (June 26), Tonny Lehne (Sept. 5), Henrik “Chris” Lindhjem (Feb. 14), and Tarjei Havnes (who left in March 1999).

Great blog. I love it. Thanks for your efforts. Wish we had a niche private tracker for all this forgotten songs and music videos.
Thank you for doing this! This site is great
I just came across your blog post from 2015 while trying to find out more info about jene and was very pleasantly surprised that the blog is still active. awesome blog 💪🏾
Enjoy browsing your website.. looking for a group/song, wonder if you can help. I remember a group that consisted of two guys and a girl who were fairly young, sort of like a City High. They had a song called “Why” or “Tell Me Why” in the summer of 1991 or 1992. I remember it being a socially conscious type of song.. if this sounds familiar, any help would be appreciated
Are you referring to Small Change? Here is the link to the page. I hope this gives you the answer that you’re looking for.
This was it!!!!! Thanks again
You’re welcome.
Wow! Didn’t know you were still up and running! Made my day!
Hello, I am the former Atlantic Records recording artist, Tim Owens (circa 1991).
I came across the write-up on this site mentioning my two singles released on Atlantic Records, “I’m Hooked” & “Smile” (Thank You), but you had no information as to what happened to me. I would love to update you on my career after those releases.
I am still a full-time touring and recording vocalist, songwriter and producer with major label projects to my credit. I would love to send you my resume if you are interested.
