Lé Gent

Lé Gent were a New York R&B quartet from the 90’s whose members consisted of Larry Gatling (the brother of Timmy Gatling, who was a member of R&B group, Guy), Ron Wilson (the son of late R&B singer, Jackie Wilson), Scott Weatherspoon, and Eric White.

In 1991, the group released their self-titled debut album on Reprise Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever charted. The first single, “Time For Love” didn’t make much impact on the charts.

Their second single, “Woman’s Heart” managed to peak at #85 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart in August of 1991, staying on the chart for 4 weeks. After that, it seemed as if Lé Gent has faded into obscurity.

Too Badd

Too Badd were a hip-hop trio that consisted of Fatima “O.G. Rocker” Shaheed, Juanita “Crazy J” Lee, and Barbara “Arabian M.C.” Lee. Fatima and Juanita were part of the original line-up of JJ Fad, but due to financial and management issues, they were replaced in 1987.

In 1989, Too Badd released their only single on Sleeping Bag Records, “Too Badd\Cummin’ Up.” It’s unknown how or if the single ever charted. After that, it seemed as if Too Badd had faded into obscurity.

David St. George

David St. George was an R&B musician from the 80’s. Not much information is given about him, but he was signed to Malaco Records. In 1985, David released his only album, “The Voices of Dr. Dave” which didn’t appear to chart at all.

He released the single, “Love Stimulation\I’m Rappin” which didn’t appear to make the charts at all either. After that, it seemed as if David St. George has faded into obscurity

Katrina Moss was a freestyle\dance singer from the 80’s. Not much information is given about her, but she released only one single before fading into obscurity.

In 1988, Katrina released the single, “Dancing to the Beat (Of My Man)” which didn’t appear to make much impact on the charts. After that, it seemed as if Katrina has faded into obscurity.

Finest Hour

Finest Hour were an R&B quartet from Boston, Massachusetts that consisted of members Vaughn Joseph Burks, Troy Sanders, Jamal Seymour, and Carlos Munoz.

In 1989, the quartet released their only album, “Make That Move” on PolyGram Records which managed to peak at #79 on Billboard’s Top R&B\Hip-Hop Albums chart.

The title song managed to peak at #44 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart in September of 1989, staying on the chart for 10 weeks.

The follow-up single, “You Know How I Like It” failed to chart. After that, it seemed as if Finest Hour has faded into obscurity.

Nu Girls

Nu Girls were a female R&B group from the late 80’s from Miami, Florida that consisted of members Pam Graham, Lisa Roundtree, TuWanda Bryant and Kim Philmore.

In 1989, they released their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records which didn’t appear to make the charts at all. canwetalkaboutThe only single to chart from the album was “Can We Talk About It” which peaked at #71 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 6 weeks. rushonmeA promo single, “Rush on Me” failed to make the charts and after that, it seemed as if the Nu Girls have faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Def Con 4

Def Con 4 were a 90’s R&B trio from the Bronx, New York that consisted of members David “Def Melody” Sanchez, Guy Vaughn, Kenny Bobien and Steven Ray.

Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Reprise Records. In 1990, they released their self-titled debut album which didn’t appear to chart at all.

Their only chart appearance was the single, “Say U Love Me” which peaked at #45 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.

After that, it seems as if Def Con 4 has faded into obscurity.

Bruce Saunders (from Cincinatti, Ohio) was an R&B singer from the 90’s. Not much information is given about him, but he was signed to RCA Records. In 1992, he released his only debut album, “Touch You There” which didn’t appear to chart at all on the Billboard charts.The title song peaked at #60 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks. The follow-up single “Lady” peaked at #97 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 2 weeks.

After that, it seemed as if he has faded into obscurity. Not much has been heard from him since.

Tim Owens

Tim Owens (born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) was an R&B singer from the 90’s.

Not much information is given about him, but he released one album on Atlantic Records in 1991 before fading into obscurity.

The first single released from the album, “I’m Hooked” peaked at #76 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.  His highest chart appearance to date was the follow-up single, “Smile” which peaked at #31 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.

After that, it seems as if Tim has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.
