Yvonne Gage

Yvonne Gage
Yvonne Gage (born on December 20, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois) is an R&B singer who has been active in the music business since 1978.

When she was 14 years old, she became a member of a local R&B group called the Soulettes. After being introduced to producer Don Burnside, Yvonne was signed as his artist and she began touring as a back-up singer for funk artist Captain Sky.

After returning to Chicago, Yvonne signed a record deal with Atlantic Records where she released her first single “Garden of Eve” in 1981 which peaked at #36 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart and was quite success in Europe.

After the release of her first single, Yvonne was asked by rock band Ministry to tour as a featured singer. After that, she lent her voice for radio & commercial jingles.
virginityIn 1984, she released her debut album “Virginity” on the Chycago International Music (or C.I.M.) record label.
love's gonna pay you backThe first single from the album “Love’s Gonna Pay You Back” failed to make any impact on the charts at all.
doin it in a haunted houseThe second single from the album “Doin’ It in a Haunted House” faired better, peaking at #45 on the U.K. Singles chart and #78 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 5 weeks.
virginity singleThe last single from the album, the title song didn’t appear to make any impact on the charts at all.
lover of my dreamsDuring that same year, Yvonne released the single “Lover of My Dreams” which managed to peak at #79 on the U.K. Singles chart. Throughout the ’90s and ‘2000s, Yvonne continued to release music in between touring, recording, writing music and performing in musical theatre.

These days, Yvonne’s career continues to be active and she has worked with various artists such as Celine Dion, Susan Boyle, Seal, Michael McDonald, Janelle Monae, Ashford & Simpson, Patti Austin, Madonna and David Foster.

Sylvia Striplin
Sylvia Striplin (born in March of 1954 in New York) was a R&B\soul singer from the late ’70s\early ’80s. She and her family moved to the North Bronx after their home in the Sugar Hill section of Harlem was destroyed in a fire.

As a child, Sylvia began taking piano lessons and performed in recitals. By her teenage years, she began singing professionally with two of her neighborhood friends Gus Falcon & Malcolm Ballinger.

After completing high school, she attended the City College of New York in Harlem. During the ’70s, Sylvia worked as a backup singer and was selected as an understudy in the musical “The Wiz” and later performed the role in the road company production, traveling to cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami, Florida.

In the late ’70s, Sylvia was a member of the music group Aquarian Dreams and worked with musician Roy Ayers in his group Ladies of the Eighties. She would later sign a record deal with Roy’s record label, Uno Melodic.
give me your love albumIn 1981, Sylvia released her debut (and only) album “Give Me Your Love.” It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all.

Only two singles were released from the album, the title song & “Searching,” but like the album, it’s unknown how or if they made any impact on the charts at all. Another one of the tracks from Sylvia’s album “You Can’t Turn Me Away” was featured in the video game “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories”.

In 1982, she released her last single to date “Keep Pushing” on Rissa Chrissa Records, but it didn’t appear to make a lot of impact on the charts at all.

After that, it seems as if Sylvia has faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what she’s up to these days.

Keith John

Keith JohnKeith John (born D. Keith John) is an R&B singer\composer who is the son of late singer Little Willie John.
Try To Walk A Mile : I Just Wanna Be FreeHe and his brother Kevin recorded music together on RCA Records under the name “The John Brothers”, releasing the single ” I Just Wanna Be Free” in 1981. It’s unknown how or if it charted at all.

Throughout the ’80s, Keith provided vocals on albums for artists such as Tom Browne, Eddie Murphy, Jeffrey Osborne, Vanessa Williams, Teddy Pendergrass, Calloway, George Duke and Whitney Houston.
school dazeIn 1988, he was featured on the soundtrack to the Spike Lee film “School Daze” with the track “I Can Only Be Me.”
why don't we tryA year later in 1989, Kevin was featured on the soundtrack to another Spike Lee film “Do the Right Thing” with the track “Why Don’t We Try” which was released as a single, but it’s unknown how or if it charted at all.

These days, Keith tours as a backup singer for Stevie Wonder.

Andrew Logan

andrew loganAndrew Logan (real name Andrew J. Kraus) is a former pop\R&B singer from the early ’90s.
show me your heartIn 1992, he released his debut album “Show Me Your Heart” on Motown Records. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.

Two singles from the album “Love Can Be Enough” and “Living in a World” were released, but like their album, it’s unknown how or if the singles charted at all.

After his solo music career, Andrew moved on to songwriting, writing songs for artists such as Nobody’s Angel, Dakota Moon, John Lone, Laura Pausini and Raul Midon.

These days, Andrew continues to be active in the entertainment business as a director, directing music videos, tours and commercials for artists such as Toni Braxton, Fall Out Boy, Jessie J, Weezer, Lea Michele and many more.

He is also the artistic & tour director for the Verizon Wireless tour “How Sweet the Sound” which is the search for the best church choir in America and is the creative director for gospel music duo Mary Mary.

Sinclair

sinclair Sinclair (born Mike Sinclair from West London, England) is a male R&B singer from the ’90s. When he was 14 years old, he appeared on stage in school with a reggae band called The Administrators. He would later sign a record deal with Dome Records.
i want you back singleIn 1992, he released his debut single “I Want You Back” which didn’t appear to chart at all.
ain't no casanovaIn 1993, Sinclair scored a hit with his follow-up single “Ain’t No Casanova” which peaked at #28 on the U.K. Singles chart (making it his highest chart appearance to date).
i want you backIn 1994, he released his debut album “I Want You Back” which didn’t appear to chart at all.
(I Wanna Know) WhySinclair’s third single “(I Wanna Know) Why” didn’t match the success of his previous single, peaking at #58 on the U.K. Singles chart.
don't lieHis last charting single to date “Don’t Lie” peaked at #70 on the U.K. Singles chart.

After that, Sinclair decided to take some time off from the music business and worked in Asia for the next couple of years. He later returned to the music scene, working with different artists and producing & remixing music.

As of 2011, Sinclair was working on a new EP, but as of 2017, nothing much has been heard about the project and it’s unknown what the current status of it currently is.

karen kennyKaren Kenny was an R&B\hip-hop singer from the ’90s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Fairplay Records.
crazy loveIn 1996, she released her only album to date “Crazy Love.” It’s unknown how or if the album attracted any attention or made any impact on the charts.

4 Keeps

4 keepsFour Keeps is a hip-hop female quartet from the ’90s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Showtime Records.
give it to meIn 1994, they released their only single to date “Give It To Me” which did not appear to chart at all on the Billboard charts, but a music video was made for the track.

After that, it seems as 4 Keeps has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since the ’90s.

Cyrena

CyrenaCyrena (from San Francisco, California) was a female pop singer who first began singing when she was 8 years old.

At the age of 9, she appeared on the “Jenny Jones” talk show where she performed an original song called “Me Loves You.” In 1999, after impressing then-Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola, Cyrena was immediately signed to Epic Records.
R-8305545-1459013884-6136In 2000, Cyrena was featured on the soundtrack to the film “Center Stage” with the track “Get Used to This.” After that, she took a break from the music scene to focus on her family & school.

Cyrena would later return to the music scene where she dabbled in electro-pop\R&B music. She released three tracks on her SoundCloud page, but nothing much has been heard from her in the past 4 years and it appears as if she has faded into obscurity.

Tiffany AffairTiffany Affair was a pop\R&B girl group from Manhattan, New York that originally consisted of Ayanna (born in 1988), Bianca (born in 1988), Gabrielle (born in 1990) and Natasha (born in 1990). Part of their group’s name was inspired by the first studio they worked in: an old factory where Tiffany Jewelry was crafted on Tiffany Blvd.

The girls met in elementary school where they sang together in choir along with performing in musical theater & commercials. As they got older, the group later decided to pursue a professional singing career and would go on to sign a record deal with Reprise Records thanks to guitarist Robert Randolph.
start a fireIn 2006, Tiffany Affair released their debut single “Start a Fire” featuring rapper Jody Breeze. It’s unknown how or if the single made any impact on the charts at all.

At some point during that same year, Natasha was asked to leave Tiffany Affair due to a severe drug problem which began to give the group a poor image on and backstage during private interviews. After Natasha’s departure, Tiffany Affair was now a trio which consisted of Ayanna, Bianca and Gabrielle.
over itIn 2007, the group released their follow-up single “Over It” which managed to peak at #43 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart.

Their debut album “Flavors” was supposed to be released sometime around mid-2007, but due to unknown reasons, it was shelved and after that, it seemed as if Tiffany Affair had disbanded.

These days, it’s currently unknown what the members of Tiffany Affair are up to these days and it appears as if they have faded into obscurity.

Na’sha

Na'shaNa’Sha (born Natasha Watkins in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio) was an R&B singer from the 2000s. Born in a family of singers, dancers & actors, Na’sha began writing poetry when she was 5 years old and began singing when she was 7 years old.

In October of 2003, she signed with Pure Records (an independent record label based in Miami, Florida) and later signed a distribution deal with Sony’s RED distribution.
my storyIn September of 2005, Na’sha released her debut and only album to date “My Story.” It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all. The album featured a guest appearance from reggae artist Shaggy.
FireThe lead single from the album “Fire” didn’t appear to make any impact on the charts at all.
more than a millionThe follow-up single “More Than a Million” also did not chart, but a remixed version of the song featured rapper Jay-Z.  In 2006, she made guest appearances on Shaggy’s album “Clothes Drop” and Petey Pablo’s single “Give It Up.”

These days, it’s unknown what Na’Sha’s up to these days and it appears as if she has faded into obscurity.
