Nursery School was an R&B music act from the 1980s. Not much information is given about this music act, but Nursery School was signed to Epic Records.
In 1983, Nursery School released their only single “Sweepstakes.” It’s unknown how or if the single made any impact on any music charts at all.
After that, it seems as if Nursery School has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from this music act since the 1980s.

Mis-Teeq were a British UK garage\pop\R&B girl group that consisted of lead singer Sabrina Washington (born Sabrina Fredrica Washington on October 27, 1978 in Harlesden, London, England), rapper\singer-songwriter Alesha Dixon (born on October 7, 1978 in in Welwyn Garden City, England) and backing singer Su-Elise Nash (born Su-Elise Michelle Nash on May 22, 1981 in Dulwich, London, England).
Based in London, the group formed in 1996 when Alesha and Sabrina first met at a dance studio in Fulham, London. The two of them worked together for a couple of years before they signed with a production company to help develop their sound.
Sabrina and Alesha were later joined by Tina Barrett (born Tina Ann Barrett on September 16, 1976 in Hammersmith, London, England) to form a trio that sang & danced. Originally, the trio was called Face2Face and at the time, they were unsigned to a record label and were still working day jobs.
Tina would later leave the trio to join pop band S Club 7. After answering an audition call, she was replaced by Su-Elise and Zena McNally (born on March 8, 1984 in Birmingham, England).
The girls were later introduced by their then-producer David Brant via DJ Darren Stokes to Inferno Records by A&R man Pat Travers, who would sign them to Telstar Records and the group’s name was changed to Mis-Teeq.
After months of recording sessions, Mis-Teeq released their debut single “Why?” in January of 2001. The song peaked at #8 on the U.K. Singles chart and a garage music remix of the song became successful in the underground UK garage music scene.
In the spring of 2001, Zena left the group because she felt unhappy about “an unbalance in the group” which left Sabrina, Su-Elise and Alesha as the only members of Mis-Teeq.
In June of that same year, Mis-Teeq released their follow-up single “All I Want” which became a hit, peaking at #2 on the U.K. Singles chart and even charting in the top 30 on the music charts in Australia.
On October 27, 2001, Mis-Teeq released their debut album “Lickin’ on Both Sides” which peaked at #3 on the U.K. Albums chart and was certified Platinum. It also charted in Australia, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Scotland.
The third single from the album “One Night Stand” peaked at #5 on the U.K. Singles chart. It also managed to chart in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark and Norway.
Mis-Teeq’s fourth single “B with Me” peaked at #5 on the U.K. Singles chart and also charted in the Netherlands, Australia and Ireland.
The last single released from the album, a double A-single featuring the tracks “Roll On” and a cover version of Montell Jordan’s song “This is How We Do It” peaked at #7 on the U.K. Singles chart and also charted in Germany, Australia, the Netherlands and Ireland.
In 2002, Mis-Teeq supported reggae singer Shaggy on his tour in the United Kingdom.
On March 29, 2003 (after a brief hiatus), the group released their sophomore album “Eye Candy” which peaked at #6 on the U.K. Albums chart and was certified Gold. It also charted in Switzerland, France, New Zealand, Scotland and Australia. Despite that, the album’s sales failed to match the success of Mis-Teeq’s debut album.
The lead single from the album “Scandalous” became a hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at #2 on the U.K. Singles chart and becoming moderately successful in countries such as Italy, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.
Their second single “Can’t Get It Back” (originally sung by R&B group Blaque) peaked at #8 on the U.K. Singles chart.
The last single released from the album “Style” peaked at #13 on the U.K. Singles chart, becoming their last chart appearance on the U.K. Singles chart.
In May of 2004, “Scandalous” was released as a single in the United States under Reprise Records. It peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100, #11 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart and #33 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Songs chart, becoming Mis-Teeq’s only charting song in the United States. It was featured as the theme song in the 2004 Halle Berry film “Catwoman.”
On July 13, 2004, Mis-Teeq’s self-titled compliation album was released in the United States & Canada. It contained a selection of songs from the group’s two previous albums (including “Scandalous”). It was also nominated for a Soul Train Lady of Soul award for “Best R&B/Soul Album – Group, Band or Duo.”
The album managed to peak at #125 on the Billboard 200, #81 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart and #4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. During that same year, Mis-Teeq began touring in the United States, appearing on TV shows such as “Pepsi Smash,” Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel.
In 2005, Mis-Teeq’s record label, Telestar went bankrupt and shut down, leaving the group in limbo. During that same year, the group announced they would be breaking up. Their greatest hits album was released in that same year & peaked at #28 on the U.K. Albums chart.
In 2011, it was reported that Mis-Teeq was in talks to reform for a comeback tour, but Alesha Dixon denied the rumor although two years later, she stated that she would never rule out a reunion.
Since then, Sabrina, Alesha and Su-Elise went on to pursue separate careers in the entertainment industry.
In 2009, Sabrina Washington began her solo career, releasing the single “OMG (Oh My Gosh)” which fared well in Europe, but didn’t chart in the United Kingdom. She also appeared on the TV series “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”
Since then, she has started her own record label, Swash Music and (as of 2013), she is signed with Shakir Entertainment Management and is working on her yet-to-be released debut album.
Su-Elise Nash focused on her education, later earning her teaching qualifications.
Since then, she has stayed out of the public eye and in 2006, she opened her own school called the Su-Elise Stage School (located in Gravesend, Kent, England. In 2009, it was reported that she was working on a solo album, but it’s unknown if those plans ever materialized.
Alesha Dixon went on to have a successful solo music career, releasing 4 solo albums. Along with her music career, she is also a television presenter, starring as a judge on reality TV shows such as “Britain’s Got Talent” and “Strictly Come Dancing”.
Alesha also had her own competition show called “Alesha’s Street Dance Stars.” Since 2012, she has been in a relationship with Azuka Ononye and they have a daughter named Azura Sienna.
Former member Zena McNally released two solo singles in 2003 and worked as a radio presenter, co-presenting BBC Radio 1Xtra. In 2008, she married American soccer player Cory Gibbs, but in 2014, they divorced.
Currently, Zena resides in the United States where she works as a director of a property investment company & also works in Entertainment Management & Artist Branding in Los Angeles, California.

Precious was a British pop girl group that consisted of Jenny Frost (born Jennifer Frost on February 22, 1978 in Wallasey, Merseyside, England) Louise Rose, Anya Lahiri (born on May 1, 1982 in Golders Green, London in the United Kingdom), Sophie McDonnell (born on February 3, 1976 in Lancaster, England) and Kalli Clark-Sternberg.
The group was formed in late 1998 by Sophie and Jenny. Anya, Kalli and Louise joined the group by auditioning. In May of 1999, Precious was voted in the Eurovision Song Contest to represent the United Kingdom.
The group’s song “Say It Again” became popular, debuting at #6 on the U.K. Singles chart, but in the Eurovision Song Contest, the song placed in the 12th position. The song also charted moderately in Belgium and Sweden. It was also released as a single in the United States in 2000, but it’s unknown how or if the song even charted there.
In November of 2000, they released their only self-titled album which flopped, selling fewer than 600 copies.
The last single from the album “New Beginning” peaked at #50 on the U.K. Singles chart After that, Precious was dropped from their record label and the girls went on to pursue separate careers.
Jenny Frost became a member of girl group Atomic Kitten and worked as a television presenter. In January of 2011, she became the face for Nelsons (Homeopathy) Pure and Clear anti-blemish care products.
She is currently married to Vicente Juan Spiteri (a Spanish diving school owner) and has three sons: Caspar (born in October of 2007 from her previous relationship with DJ Dominic Thrupp) and twins Blake & Nico (born in January of 2013 with her current husband Vicente).
Sophie McDonnell went on to pursue acting, appearing in various television shows. Most recently, she starred in a production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” at the Kings Theatre in Southsea, England.
Kalli Clark-Sternberg went on to become a session singer. Currently (according to research), she works for the Ten Music Group in the Los Angeles, California office.
Louise Rose has also gone on to pursue an acting career, starring in various TV shows and the 2009 mini-series “Diamonds.”
After Precious disbanded, Anya Lahiri returned to her education, attendning Birkbeck, University of London along with modeling, appearing on the covers of “Company and More”, appearing for brands such as Asda and ASOS & was even one of the FHM PitGirls in 2003
These days, she splits her time working as a fitness instructor, a model and an actor.

Akia was a female R&B\hip-hop singer from the early 2000s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Universal Records.
In 2002, Akia released her debut single “California.” It’s unknown how or if the single ever charted or if it made any impact whatsoever.
A year later in 2003, she released her debut (and only) mini-album “Atruprncss.” It’s unknown how or if the album made any impact at all.

Sunshine Anderson (born on June 7, 1974 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is a female R&B singer that first appeared on the music scene during the early 2000s.
Growing up, Sunshine came from a family of singers and she later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended North Carolina Central University where she earned a degree in criminal justice.
While attending the school, Sunshine was discovered singing in the cafeteria line by a friend of music producer Mike City. After successfully auditioning, she and Mike City began working on music together which eventually led to Sunshine being signed to Atlantic Records imprint label, Soulife (where Mike City was the head of A&R).
On February 27, 2001, Sunshine released her debut single “Heard It All Before” which became her biggest pop and R&B hit to date, peaking at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart (staying on the chart for 30 weeks). In the U.K., the song managed to peak at #9 on the U.K. Singles chart.
On April 17, 2001, Sunshine released her debut album “Your Woman” which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. It also peaked at #39 on the U.K. Albums chart and was certified Gold.
Her follow-up single “Lunch or Dinner” peaked at #57 on the U.K. Singles chart and #54 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart (staying on the chart for 10 weeks), but missed the Hot 100.
After briefly touring with R. Kelly, Sunshine directly signed with Atlantic Records (after the Soulife imprint label folded) where she recorded her sophomore album, but after Warner Bros. & Atlantic Records merged together which placed her at the end of a long line of female artists on the roster and when the label informed her that it would be almost 2 years before her second album would be released, Sunshine asked to be released from the label.
After leaving Atlantic Records, she returned to Charlotte where she fell into a period of deep depression (which include drug & alcohol issues), but after regrouping & relocating to Seattle, Washington with her then professional athlete husband, Sunshine flew to New York & signed with Mathew Knowles’ (the father of Beyonce & Solange Knowles) record label, Music World Entertainment in August of 2004.
On January 23, 2007 (after a three-year wait), Sunshine finally released her sophomore album “Sunshine at Midnight” which peaked at #86 on the Billboard 200, #4 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and #16 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. During the album’s promotion, she became pregnant with her daughter, Skyy.
The lead single from the album “Something I Wanna Give You” peaked at #80 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (staying on the chart for 9 weeks).
The follow-up single “Force of Nature” peaked at #75 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (staying on the chart for 12 weeks).
In 2010, Sunshine released her third album “The Sun Shines Again” which peaked at #50 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. The only song to chart from the album was “Lie to Kick It” which peaked at #84 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
These days, it appears as if Sunshine continues to perform music, but it’s unknown if she is signed to a record label or if she plans on releasing another album in the near future.

Sebastian (born John Sebastian Jimenez from New York) is a freestyle\dance music artist & actor from the late ’80s\early ’90s.
He first began his acting career at the High School of Performing Arts and even appeared on “The Cosby Show.”
In 1989, Sebastian signed to the Metropolitan Recording label and released his debut single “The Nights We Shared” which became quite popular among freestyle music fans, but it’s unknown how or if the single charted.
In 1990, he released his second single “Santa-Li”. Just like his previous single, it’s unknown how or if the single charted at all.
After that, it seemed as if Sebastian faded into obscurity, but these days, he continues to perform his freestyle hit songs.

Billie Myers (born on June 14, 1971 in Coventry, West Midlands, England) is a female pop\rock singer from the ’90s. She was born to a British mother & a Jamaican father and began writing poetry as a child.
Before pursuing a music career, Billie worked as a nurse and an insurance agent. After she was discovered by record producer, Peter Harris at a club, she began writing material for her debut album.
In September of 1997, she released her debut single “Kiss the Rain” which became her biggest hit to date, peaking at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, #7 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart, #6 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart and #28 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.
In the U.K., the song peaked at #4 on the U.K. Singles chart and was moderately successful in other countries such as Canada, Australia, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Scotland. It was also featured in a episode of “Dawson’s Creek.”
In November of that same year, Billie released her debut album “Growing, Pains” which peaked at #19 on the U.K. Albums chart and #91 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was produced by Desmond Child and was also certified Gold.
The follow-up single from the album “Tell Me” peaked at #25 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 chart, but missed the Hot 100. It also peaked at #28 on the U.K. Singles chart.

In 2000, Billie was featured on the soundtrack to the Freddie Prinze Jr. film “Down to You” with the track “It All Comes Down To You.”
In June of that same year, Billie released her sophomore album “Vertigo.” She was more pleased with the album because she was more direct lyrically & more assertive in the production process. The album didn’t match the success of her debut album & didn’t appear to make the album charts at all.
The remixed version of the first single from the album “Am I Here Yet? (Return to Sender)” received some moderate success on the dance charts. The follow-up single “Should I Call You Jesus?” received some controversy due to Billie’s frank, honest questions about religion.
After that, not much was heard from Billie until 2005 when she released the single “Just Sex” (which was featured on Artemis Records’ “Star Struck” compliation album) and the remixed version peaked at #8 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart.
In 2006, she was the closing act for Los Angeles Gay Pride 2006, a featured act for New York City Pride 2006 & also appeared at the 25th anniversary festival of the Chicago North Halstead Market Days.
On October 11, 2009, Billie sang “America the Beautiful” before a crowd of LGBT people and their allies at the National Equality March in Washington, D.C.
In 2010, she released the single “Wonderful” which peaked at #11 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart.
These days, Billie continues to be active with her music career and in 2013, she released her third album “Tea & Sympathy.”

Tiffany Villarreal (from San Antonio, Texas) is a female R&B singer from the mid-‘2000s who has had an extensive music career.
Tiffany was born into a musical family and as a teenager, she & her family moved to California and later Las Vegas, Nevada where Tiffany attended a performing arts school where she met R&B girl group 702 who introduced her to Missy Elliott.
In 1996, Tiffany was signed to MCA Records and was preparing to release her debut album (with Missy Elliott as the executive producer), but due to RCA Records folding, the album was never released.
By the 2000s, she was signed to Universal Records and in 2003, Tiffany was featured on rapper Raekwon’s song “The Hood”.
During that same year, Tiffany released her debut single “You, Yourself & You” which didn’t appear to make any music charts at all.
Her follow-up single “Rewind the Time” (featuring Raekwon) also didn’t fare any better on the charts as well.
In 2004, Tiffany released her self-titled debut album, but it was only released in Japan. It’s unknown how or if it charted there and it’s unknown why the album was never released in the United States.
After her stint with Universal Records, Tiffany signed with Pharrell Williams’ Star Trak Entertaiment record label as a member of Latina girl group Affair. She later went on to sign with other record labels such as Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label and Motown Records.
After that, nothing solo was released from Tiffany, but she made appearances on albums by artists such as Flo Rida & Baby Bash and also co-wrote Fantasia’s song “Trust Him” for her 2010 album “Back to Me.”
In 2013, Tiffany and her music group, the Highlands where they released a song called “Feels So Good.”
In 2016, she released her new song “Flowers on the Wall” on her SoundCloud account and it appears as if she is still active with her music career.

Latrelle (born Andrea Latrelle Simmons on April 15, 1981 in Newark, New Jersey) is a female R&B singer. She is the daughter of R&B singer Aleese Simmons who had a top 10 R&B hit in 1989.
Latrelle began singing when she was a child in church. When she was 16 years old, her mother began teaching her vocal, songwriting and production techniques. In 1998, she performed at a showcase that was orchestrated by her mother.
A year later, Tracey & Babyface Edmonds signed Latrelle and Aleese to a publishing deal at Edmonds Music Publishing. During her teen years, Latrelle wrote songs for artists such as Destiny’s Child, Monica and Next.
After meeting music producer L.A. Reid, Latrelle was signed a record deal to Arista Records.
In 2001, she released her debut single “Dirty Girl” which received heavy airplay in clubs & appeared on several mixtapes, but didn’t appear to make any music charts at all.
Her follow-up single “House Party” was released, but didn’t appear to many any impact on the charts at all.
Latrelle’s debut album “Dirty Girl, Wrong Girl, Bad Girl” was supposed to be released in 2001, but according to an interview with Latrelle, due to the events of September 11th, it appears as if the album was shelved, but promotional copies appear to be available.
Later on, Latrelle left Arista Records and went on to tour with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Diddy, Blu Cantrell & Snoop Dogg. She has also worked with artists such as Whitney Houston, Philly’s Most Wanted, Shaggy, R. Kelly and Mary Mary.
These days, Latrelle goes under the stage name “MzMunchie” and in 2011, she had a minor chart appearance with the song “We Got Music.” She continues to perform and tour.
