Ebonaé

Ebonaé was a female R&B group from the ’90s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to the One 2 Fear record label.
In 1996, they released their only studio album, “Consequences.” It’s unknown how or if the album generated any attention.

After that, it seems as if Ebonaé has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since the ’90s.

Jessi Alexander (born Jessica Leigh Alexander on November 18, 1976 in Jackson, Tennessee) is a country music singer-songwriter who began her recording career in the 2000s.

Jessi’s parents divorced when she was a young girl and she was raised simultaneously in Memphis, Tennessee and Georgia. During her college years, she sang in various bands, but she eventually dropped out of school to pursue a full-time music career.

Jessi worked as a backup singer and staff writer for Warner-Chappell in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2001, a friend of hers submitted a demo tape to the NARAS Grammy Showcase (which she won) and was signed to Columbia Records in 2003.
In March of 2005, she released her debut studio album, “Honeysuckle Sweet” which didn’t appear to make the album charts at all.
The title song peaked at #52 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks, making it Jessi’s highest charting single on the chart to date.
The follow-up single from the album, “Make Me Stay or Make Me Go” peaked at #57 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for only a week.

The last two singles from the album, “Canyon Prayer” and “Can You Make It Feel Right” failed to chart. In 2006, Jessi was dropped from her record label shortly after marrying musician, songwriter and producer Jon Randall.

She later wrote songs for artists such as Trisha Yearwood, Sass Jordan and Little Big Town. She also co-wrote Miley Cyrus’s song, “The Climb” for the 2009 film, “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”

In the 2010s, Jessi continued writing songs for artists such as Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Tim McGraw.
In April of 2014, she released her sophomore album, “Down Home” on the Lonesome Vinyl Record label.
These days, Jessi continues to write and perform music; in March of 2020, she released her third studio album, “Decatur County Road” and was featured on Riley Green’s song, “That Was Us.”
