Pressure Drop

Pressure Drop Rock The House (You'll Never Be)Pressure Drop was an electro-dance music act from the ’80s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Tommy Boy Records.

In 1983, they released the single, “Rock The House (You’ll Never Be)” which peaked at #21 on Billboard’s Dance/Disco Top 80 chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.

After that, it seems as if Pressure Drop has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from the since the ’80s.

The Puppets ‎– The Way Of LifeThe Puppets were a pop/dance music act from the ’80s that was formed by Shaun Brighton, who was a member of a new wave music band called Nervus Rex.

In 1983, they released the single, “The Way Of Life” on Quality Records which peaked at #6 on Billboard’s Dance/Disco Top 80 chart, staying on the chart for 12 weeks. It was also successful in Canada and topped the regional charts in New York.

The Puppets briefly went on tour, but later disbanded due to internal disagreements between the producers, their record label and Shaun Brighton. These days, according to research, Shaun resides in Miami Beach, Florida where he works as an art dealer, creates art and still writes songs.

Alpha Team

Alpha Team ‎– SpeedAlpha Team were an electronic dance music duo from Chicago, Illinois that consisted of Dane Roewade and D.J. Attack.

In 1993, they released their only single, “Speed” on Strictly Hype Records. The song sampled the theme song from the cartoon show, “Speed Racer” & included snippets of dialog from the show.

The song peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #43 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, staying on the chart for 4 weeks. It also peaked at #16 on Billboard’s Dance Music/Singles Sales chart and #61 on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart.

The success of “Speed” (which sold more than 180,000 units) allowed Strictly Hype Records to stay in business and significantly expand with other artists.

After that, nothing much was heard from Alpha Team and it seems as if they’ve faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what they’re currently up to these days.
