Arli

arli can't live without you

Arli was a freestyle\dance artist from the late ’80s. Not much information is given about this artist, but Arli was signed to Best Records.

In 1989, Arli released the single “Can’t Live Without You.” It’s unknown how or if the single made the charts at all.

After that, it seems as if Arli has faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what this artist is up to these days.

gina marie

Gina Marie was a female freestyle\dance singer from the ’90s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Wow! Records.

In 1990, she released her only single “I’m Gonna Make You Mine.” It’s unknown how or if the single made any music charts at all.

After that, it seems as if Gina Marie has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since the ’90s.

Hepburn

hepburnHepburn was a female British pop-rock band whose members consisted of vocalist Jamie Benson (born on September 27, 1978 from Bognor Regis, England), guitarist Lisa Lister (born on July 24, 1981 from Worlington, England), bassist Sarah Davies (born on January 22, 1981 from Mansfield, England) and drummers Beverley Fullen (born on October 9, 1978 from Sunderland, England), Lisa Gordon (born on January 5, 1980 from Walsall, West Midlands in England) & Tasha Baylis (born on December 27, 1974 from London, England). The group’s name was inspired by actress Audrey Hepburn.

The band began in 1997 when Jamie Benson met Lisa Lister at a party. Beverley Fullen knew Jamie from music school and Sarah Davies was added into the group to complete the line-up.
i quitIn May of 1999, Hepburn released their debut single “I Quit” which peaked at #8 on the U.K. Singles chart. The song was written by Phil Thornalley (who had gained success writing Natalie Imbruglia’s hit song “Torn”).

A music video was released along with the single and later in the year, a new video for the song was made using scenes from the TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (which included scenes of the band on the sets of the show and the band acting like vampires). Although the song never appeared on the “Buffy” TV show, it was featured on its television soundtrack.
bugsIn August of 1999, the band released their second single “Bugs” which peaked at #14 on the U.K. Singles chart.
hepburn1999During that same year, they released their only self-titled album on Columbia Records which peaked at #28 on the U.K. Albums chart. A month later, Beverley Fullen left Hepburn and was replaced by Lisa Gordon who was later replaced by Tasha Bayliss.
deep deep downIn February of 2000, Hepburn released their third (and ultimately last) single “Deep Deep Down” which peaked at #16 on the U.K. Singles chart. In the summer of that same year, the band broke up after being dropped from their record label.

After Hepburn came to an end, Jamie Benson released a solo album in 2002 called “Jamie Benson – My Confession.” After that, nothing much was heard from her and it seems as if she has faded into obscurity.

These days, Sarah Davies works as Detective Constable with the Nottinghamshire Police. Beverley Fullen works a DJ for 96.4 Eagle Radio’s Breakfast Show (which broadcasts throughout Surrey and Hampshire, England).

Tasha Bayliss appears to still be active in the music business and has appeared on music act Glass Pear’s 2010 EP “Sweet America.” As for Lisa Lister and Lisa Gordon, it’s unknown what they are up these days and they have also seemingly faded into obscurity.

Dana Glover

dana gloverDana Glover (born on October 14, 1974 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina) is a female pop singer-songwriter & pianist from the 2000s.

Dana resided in Asheville, North Carolina as a child and when she was 16 years old, she went to Manhattan, New York to pursue a modeling career. At the age of 18, she decided to pursue a career in music and first became a piano player in Nashville, Tennessee and then later in Los Angeles, California.

In 2001, Dana recorded the song “Plan On Forever” which was featured on the soundtrack to the Jennifer Lopez film “The Wedding Planner” and was later featured on the soundtrack to the film “Shrek” with the song “It Is You (I Have Loved).”
testimonyIn October of 2002, she released her debut album “Testimony” on DreamWorks Records. It’s unknown how or if the album charted at all in the United States, but it managed to peak at #43 on the U.K. Albums chart.

rainThe lead single from the album “Thinking Over” peaked at #17 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, #22 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart and #38 on the U.K. Singles chart. The follow-up single “Rain” peaked at #30 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.

After that, Dana appeared on various soundtracks for films such as “Two Weeks Notice,” “Laws of Attraction” and “Blueprint.” In 2010, she was featured on saxophonist Dave Koz’s album “Hello Tomorrow” on the track “Start All Over Again.”

In 2012, Dana arranged & sang vocals on four tracks on Leonard Cohen’s album “Old Ideas” and was featured on his 2014 album “Popular Problems.” These days, she appears to still be active in the music business & in 2016, she was featured on another one of Leonard Cohen’s albums “You Want it Darker.”

Little-T And One Track Mike

Little-T and One Track MikeLittle-T (born Timothy Sullivan) and One Track Mike (born Michael Flannery) were a hip-hop group from New Jersey. Other members of the group consisted of keyboardist Dan “Shank Bone Mystic” Saks, bassist Jesse “Savior” Saul and percussionist Jason “J Ride” Riddle.

Timothy & Mike first met in 1998 while attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey when Little-T was looking for someone to help him launch a career as a rapper.

After completing their first demo together, Little-T gave Michael the nickname “One Track Mike.” Their songs became so popular with the students at Rutgers, they began playing shows throughout the tri-state area.

After members of MTV’s “Lyricist Lounge Show” discovered Little-T and One Track Mike performing at the Mercury Lounge in New York City, they introduced them to Lava Records who signed them to a record deal.
shaniquaBefore releasing their debut album was released), the group performed at the last 4 stops of the Vans Warped Tour in 2001. During that same year, they released their first single “Shaniqua” which was moderately successful on MTV and got some airplay on alternative radio stations.
fome is dapeIn late August of 2001, Little-T and One Track Mike released their debut album “Fome is Dape”, but due to the events of September 11, 2001, a record release party for the album was cancelled. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.
wingsThe follow-up single “Wings” flopped and after touring for two years with various artists such as Blink 182, Outkast, Green Day & Ben Kweller, the group disbanded in 2002, going their separate ways.

These days, Tim Sullivan performs under the stage name “Time Fite.” Mike Flannery continues to produce music from his project studio in Manhattan, New York along with working as a children’s jingle house under the name “Jumping Giant.”

Dan Saks and Jason Riddle are part of an indie rock band called DeLeon while Jason Riddle went on to pursue other interests.

Wessyde Goon Squad was a hip-hop music group from Los Angeles, California that consisted of R&B vocalist\lyricist Babyboy, hardcore rapper\lyricist Berchee and underground rapper Shuv along with producer & DJ Cyrus Melchor. They were signed to Yab Yum Records.
crazyIn 1995, they released their debut single “Crazy.” It’s unknown how or if it made any music charts at all, but Billboard magazine described the single as “laid-back and perpetually cool.”
higherIn 1996, Wessyde Goon Squad released their follow-up (and last) single “Higher” which flopped. The group was supposed to release their debut album “Around The World” sometime during that same year, but it was never released.

After that, not much was heard from Wessyde Goon Squad and it appeared as if they have faded into obscurity, but Cyrus Melchor appears to still active in the music business.

Shya

shyaShya was a female R&B singer from the ’90s. Not much information is given about her, but she appeared to be signed to Yab Yum Records.
havplentyIn 1998, she made her musical debut on the soundtrack to the film “Hav Plenty” with the track “I Can’t Help It.”
lightitupA year later, Shya appeared on another movie soundtrack “Light It Up” with the track “Burgundy.”

After that, not much was heard from Shya. She never released an album or any other singles since the ’90s and has seemingly faded into obscurity.

Miquel Brown

miquel brownMiquel Brown (born Michael Brown on February 8, 1949 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a female dance\R&B singer. She is the step-sister of singer Amii Stewart (well known for her disco hit with the song “Knock On Wood”) and the mother of pop singer Sinitta.

Miquel’s parents changed the spelling of her first name, but kept the pronunciation of it so she wouldn’t be confused with Michael Brown, a male producer & children’s author from Texas.

Miquel was raised in Vancouver, Canada and gave birth to her twin daughters Sinitta & Greta when she was only 14 years old. After landing the role of Sheila in the musical “Hair,” she left her university to perform & tour with the company.

In 1973, she was cast as the lead role in “Decameron ’73” at the Roadhouse in London, England. Miquel also appeared in various films and TV series such as “Rollerball” and a TV film called “Regan.” In 1978, she also appeared in the film “Superman” in a non-speaking role.

In 1976, Miquel portrayed the role of Sister Anna in the musical “Mardi Gras” which attracted the attention of musician Alan Hawkshaw, who signed her to a record deal.
symphony of loveIn 1978, Miquel released her debut album “Symphony of Love” on Polydor Records. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.

The tracks “Dancing With the Lights Down Low” and the title song managed to peak at #28 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart.
manpowerIn 1983, Miquel met music producers Ian Levine & Fiancra Trench and released her sophomore album “Manpower” on the Record Shack Records label. Like her debut album, it’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.

beelineThe last single from the album “Beeline” peaked at #44 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart. After the release of her sophomore album, Miquel spent the next two years appearing in stage productions such as “Only in America” and “The Leiber and Stoller Musical”.
close to perfectionIn 1985, she released her third (and to date, last) album “Close to Perfection”. Like Miquel’s previous two albums, it’s unknown how or if the album made the album charts at all.

The title song peaked at #63 on the U.K. Singles chart, becoming Miquel’s highest charting song in the United Kingdom to date. The follow-up single “Black Leather” peaked at #85 on the U.K. Singles chart.
ontheradioDuring that same year, Miquel released the single “On the Radio” which didn’t appear to chart at all. In 1986, she filled in for Helen Scott (of R&B music act The Three Degrees) while Helen was pregnant.

Between 1986 and 1989, she released two more singles on the Nightmare Records label: “Footprints in the Sand” & “This Time It’s Real”, but neither of them appeared to chart at all.

In the ’90s, Miquel released the single “I Was Strong (My Moment)” (in 1990) and “It’s A Sin” (in 1997), but throughout the ’90s and 2000s, she focused more on her acting career, appearing in various films & plays.

These days, Miquel appears to still be active as an actress and as of 2013, she completed filming a short film called “Iced: A Quick Freeze.”

christine miltonChristine Milton (born on July 18, 1985 in Amger, Denmark) is a Danish pop singer from the 2000s. She was raised in Gilleleje, Denmark and has three siblings.

Christine began taking singing lessons when she was 14 years old. She participated in the second series of the Denmark version of the reality TV series “Popstars”, but didn’t win the competition. Despite that, she signed a deal with record label BMG.
superstarIn January of 2003, she released her debut single “Superstar” which became a big hit, topping the Danish Singles charts, sold over 12,000 copies and was certified Platinum. During that same year, British R&B singer Jamelia covered the song which became a hit in the United Kingdom and topped the charts in other countries as well.
Whiketywhack I Ain't Coming BackIn July of 2003, Christine released her follow-up single “Whicketywhack (I Ain’t Coming Back)” which peaked at #4 on the Danish Singles chart.
shine onIn March of 2004, she released her third single “Shine On” which peaked at #8 on the Danish Singles chart.
