The Movies

The Movies were a New York hip-hop/R&B band from the 80s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Blue Chip City Records.

In 1985, the band released their debut single “Future Girl.” It’s unknown how or if the single made the charts.

A year later, they released the single “Juke Box” which peaked at #88 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.

In 1987, the Movies released their late single to date “She Gave Me That Itch/The Love in You” on the Macola Record Co. label.

After that, it seems as if the Movies have faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

New Situation was a New York R&B studio band from the late 80s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to V&M Records.

In 1989, they released their only single “Going To a Go Go” which managed to peak at #92 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 3 weeks.

After that, it seemed as if New Situation has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Dekko was a male freestyle/dance singer from the 90s. Not much information is given about this singer, but he was signed to Jack Pot Records.

In 1993, he released his only album “I Will Always Love You” which was released on the Hot Productions record label.

During that same year, he released a cover version of Whitney Houston’s then-hit song “I Will Always Love You.” It’s unknown how or if the single ever made the charts.

The follow-up single “I Want You” was released, but it failed to make any impact on the music charts at all.

Two more singles from the album “Words” and “Without You” were released, but like the previous two singles, they didn’t appear to make the Billboard or any other music charts at all.

After that, it seems as if Dekko has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.

Rafiki

Rafiki was a male R&B singer from the early 90s. Not much information is given about him, but he was signed to Damon Records.

In 1991, he released the single “Would You Be My Girl/I Walk the Line.” It’s unknown how or if the single charted at all.

After that, it seems as if Rafiki has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.

René Hayes

René Hayes was a female R&B singer from the late 80s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Damon Records.

In 1988, René released her only album “You Are the Answer” which didn’t appear to make any impact on the charts.

The only singles released were “I Really Miss You” and “Ain’t It Funny,” but like the album, they didn’t appear to make the charts.

After that it seems as if René has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since the ’80s.

Liquid Heat

Liquid Heat was a female R&B/dancemusic duo from the 80s. Not much information is given about them, but one of the member’s name is Linda K. Holland.

In 1986, they released their only self-titled album. It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts at all.

The only single released from the album was “Dr. Please” which also failed to make any impact on the charts.

Liquid Heat’s last musical release was the single “Nice Girls” in 1989. It’s unknown how or if the single charted.

After that, it seems as if Liquid Heat has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Day Ta Day

Day Ta Day were an R&B group from Washington, D.C. that consisted of Lynn Taylor (the nephew of R&B singer Johnnie Taylor), Wendall Wylie, Earnest Hairston, Reginald McFadden and Lawrence Flack.

In 1996, they released their only album “Take Your Time” on MCA Records. It’s unknown how or it made the charts.

Their first single “Smile” peaked at #73 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks

The follow-up single “U Represent” didn’t appear to make the charts. After that, it seems as if Day Ta Day has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Arlene Bailey

Arlene Bailey was a female R&B singer from the early ’90s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Agb Records.

In 1990, Arlene released her only album “I’ve Got My Game Plan Working Baby.” It’s unknown how or if the album made the charts.

The title song was released as a single, but didn’t make the charts. After that, it seems as if Arlene faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since.

Tony Chambers was an R&B singer from the 80s. Not much information is given about him, but he released an album & two singles before fading into obscurity.

In 1978, Tony released his first single “I Want To Be Your Man / Stay Calm, Be Cool And Think Collectively” on Mopres Records. It’s unknown how or if the single made the charts.

In 1981, Tony released his only album “Can’t Let This Moment Go” also on Mopres Records. Once again, it’s unknown how or if it appeared to make much impact on the charts.

A year later, Tony released his second single “Football Hero” on Birdie Records. The single failed to make any impact on the charts.

Another version of the song “Football Hero For Your Love” was released as well. After that, it seems as if Tony has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.
