Keita

Keita is an R&B music singer from the ’90s. Not much background information is given about this artist, but she was signed to the Watch It Records label.
In 1994, she released her only single, “Boy You Are The One”. The song didn’t make any music charts, but a music video was made for it.

Afterwards, it seems as if Keita has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since the ’90s.

Mass Order

Mass Order is a garage house music duo from the ’90s that consisted of Eugene Hanes and Marc Valentine.
In 1990, they released their debut single, “Tribulations” on the Grove St. record label; it’s unknown how or if the single charted at all.
Two years later, Mass Order released their debut and only studio album, “Maybe One Day” on Columbia Records. The lead single, “I Wanna Be Your Love” peaked at #91 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 4 weeks.
Their follow-up single, “Lift Every Voice (Take Me Away)” became their only highest charting single to date, peaking at #2 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.
The last single released from the album, “Let’s Get Happy” failed to chart. Afterwards, it seems as Mass Order faded into obscurity. They have written songs for artists such as Adina Howard, Barrio Boyzz, Chantay Savage, Sugababes and Pitbull.

These days (according to research), Eugene Hanes works as the VPO for Volition Sound and Marc appears to still be active as a songwriter.

DRS

DRS (short for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) were a gangsta rap\R&B music group from Sacramento, California that consisted of members John “Jail Bait” Rhone, LaMarr “Deuce Deuce” Lubin, Lavell “Endo” Brown, Ejay “Blunt” Turner and Ontario “Pic” Haynes.

The group was discovered by production team, The Whole 9, who signed a production deal with MC Hammer’s Roll Wit It Entertainment label and brought D.R.S. with them. M.C. Hammer helped sign them to a record deal with Capitol Records.
In October of 1993, they released their debut single, “Gangsta Lean” which became a hit, topping Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart for 6 weeks (staying on the chart for 21 weeks). The song was successful on the pop music charts, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It also peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music Singles Sales chart and #2 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart. Internationally, the song topped the music charts in New Zealand and it was later certified platinum in the United States by the RIAA.
During that same year, DRS released their debut and only studio album, “Gangsta Lean” which peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart. It was certified Gold by the RIAA with sales of 500,000.
The group’s follow-up single, “Skoundrels Get Lonely” didn’t match the success of their debut single, peaking at #87 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 4 weeks.
In 1994, they were featured on the soundtrack to the film, “Jason’s Lyric” with the track, “No More Love” and as part of the music group, Black Men United on the track, “U Will Know”. Afterwards, it seemed as if DRS faded into obscurity.

These days (according to research), LaMarr Lubin is pursuing a solo career. Ontario Haynes works for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers as a senior licensing manager and regional account manager. It’s unknown what the other members of DRS are currently up to these days.
