Category: Messages from the Music-Know-It-All

Hello, music fans!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I have an announcement to make.

After much contemplation, I have decided to shut down the Blogger version of “Rare and Obscure Music” on December 31, 2022. The reason is because I rarely use the Blogger version anymore and I wanted to have all of my blog entries on one website instead of going back and forth between WordPress and Blogger.

Before you ask where you can find my past blog entries, they are all available under the Archive section of the blog. I was able to import all of the blog entries from Blogger to WordPress, so you will be able to view all of them from 2008 (when the blog first started) to now.
Keep in mind that some of the past blog entries need to be edited with updated information and images. Between editing the blog entries and working on my Chicago Blackhawks blog, I may not be posting new entries frequently.

Sincerely,
The Music-Know-It-All

Due to the recent IOS update for the iPad, I am currently using the WordPress app to post entries.

Please keep in mind that the photos in the entries might be enlarged. I have tried to post pictures in WordPress using Safari, but there are some issues possibly connected to the IOS update.

I will have access to a computer sometime this week and I’ll probably be able to adjust the photos and post YouTube links as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
The Music-Know-It-All

Any spam comments in blog entries will be deleted. Please try to keep comments revelant to the topic of the blog entry.

Sincerely,
The Music-Know-It-All

Happy 2013, music fans! Rare and Obscure Music did very well last well: both the Blogspot & WordPress versions.

Did you know that in total, Rare and Obscure Music has a total of 959 posts published since 2008?(Counting this post, of course.)

Once again, Happy New Year from the Music-Know-It-All!!!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 29,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 7 Film Festivals

Hello, Rare and Obscure Music fans. I’m afraid I have some very sad news for you. I just found out tonight that Blaque member Natina Reed died in a hit and run accident near Atlanta last night at the age of 32.

According to information from E! News, police received a call about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle about 10:30pm last night. The driver of the vehicle called 911 for assistance.

Sadly, Natina was pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center at 10:55pm. From the information I’ve heard, the driver of the car was determined not to be at fault and no charges are pending, but the investigation is ongoing.

Today, Blaque members Shamari Fears-DeVoe and Brandi Williams issued a joint statement stating:

We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.”

Natina is survived by her 10-year-old son, Tren Brown, whose father is rapper Kurupt. Tomorrow would’ve been Natina’s 33rd birthday.

Rest in peace, Natina. You will be missed and never be forgotten.
