Simply Shakita

Simply Shakita is an R&B singer from the mid-’90s. Not much background information is given about this artist, but she was signed to the Jammin’ G Records and Raging Bull Records labels.
In 1995, she released her only self-titled album on cassette. It’s unknown how or if the album generated any success at all.

Jus’ Cauze

Jus’ Cauze was an R&B duo from Memphis, Tennessee that consisted of singers Ricky McNeal and Darin Smith.

Ricky and Darin first met each other in elementary school and each sang in a church choir. In later years, they formed their first music group called Picture This where they performed locally in Memphis and opened up for R&B music acts.
By 1991, the duo changed their name to Jus’ Cauze and released their debut single, “Don’t Beat Around the Bush” on the For Real Records label. The single didn’t appear to make any impact on the charts.
In 1992, they released their follow-up single, “Come Out and Play” which peaked at #35 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.
During that same year, Jus’ Cauze released their self-titled and only studio album on the Savage Records label.
The last single released from the album, “Love Of My Life” peaked at #85 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 4 weeks.

Afterwards, it seems as if Jus’ Cauze faded into obscurity. These days (according to research), Ricky McNeal appears to still live in Memphis and working on a music project called “The Journey”. It’s unknown what Darin Smith is currently up to these days.

For Lovers Only

For Lovers Only was an R&B music trio from the ’90s that consisted of singers Terry Weeks (born Terry Wayne Weeks on December 23, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama), DeFrantz Forrest (from South Bend, Indiana) and Michael Dickerson (from Arkansas).

The trio was a side project created by singer Otis Williams (from R&B group, the Temptations) and Motown Records.

Prior to the trio’s formation, Terry served in the Air Force and was a member of the Tops In Blues for eight years. Afterwards, he began singing locally around his home base in Alabama. After he gave an impromptu audition to Otis, Terry was placed in the trio.
In 1994, For Lovers Only released their self-titled and only studio album on Motown Records which didn’t appear to make any album charts at all.
Their only charting single was a cover version of Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway’s 1977 song, “The Closer I Get To You” which managed to peak at #78 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.
The follow-up single from the album, “Nasty Groove” failed to make the charts at all. Afterwards, it seemed as if For Lovers Only faded into obscurity.

These days (according to research), Terry Weeks is a member of the Temptations as of 1997. DeFrantz Forrest is a member of R&B group, The Originals. It’s unknown what Michael Dickerson is currently up to these days.
