imageDani Stevenson (born in 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia) is a female R&B singer from the 2000s.

Dani moved to Harlem, New York when she was 12 years old. After arriving in Harlem, she had aspirations of having a music career. She performed the National Anthem at a junior high graduation and participated in various talent concerts. In 1998, she performed at the Greenwich Village open-mike circuit.

In August of 2001, she met music producer Rhemario Webber through a mutual friend. Together, they worked on a 10-track demo which resulted in her signing a contract with Universal Records in February of 2002.

After signing to the label, Universal Records suggested that Dani contribute vocals to rapper and labelmate Nelly’s 2002 number-one hit single “Hot in Herre” which she agreed to.

After the success of “Hot in Herre,” Universal Records allowed Dani to prepare her debut album. She wrote 11 out of 13 tracks & also incorporated the 10-track demo to her debut album which would be titled “Is There Another?!” and was scheduled to be released in March of 2003. imageOn September 17, 2002, Dani released her debut single, “Honk Your Horn” featuring rapper Missy Elliott (who also produced the song). By 2004, Dani’s debut album passed its scheduled release date and due to the commercial failure of both singles, she left Universal Records and the album was shelved. After that, it seemed as if she faded into obscurity, but in 2006, she contributed to Norman Hedman’s Tropique final studio album, “Garden of Forbidden Fruit.” imageIn 2010, she signed a new record deal with Starrlet Entertainment and released a single called “Wishing Well.” It’s unknown how or if the song ever charted.

In 2011, she began working with late rapper DMX and contributed DMX & New Orleans rap group N.O.4’s collaborative single “Tell Ya Friends” and appeared in the music video for the song. She also made an appearance on DMX’s album “Undisputed” on the track “Sucka For Love.”

These days (according to research), Dani is still active with her music career and has her own record label, Lovers Lane Entertainment.
In 2020, she released a new single, “Sugar Honey Ice Tea” featuring rapper Shya L’amour. A year later, she released the single, “Love Me.” According to an interview with The Hype Magazine, Dani is planning on releasing an EP called “Abandoned.”
