The last single released from the album “Operator” peaked at #86 on the U.K. Singles chart. After the release of their debut album, Shaun Ward & Carroll Thompson left the band, so Michael Ward recruited singer Desi Campbell & bassist\drum programmer\co-writer Robert E. rosie-ribbonsRosie Ribbons (born Rosemary Ribbons on July 22, 1983 in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australian) is an Australian pop singer who was known for starring on the ITV1 British talent show “Pop Idol”.

Rosie had aspirations of becoming a pop singer since she was 8 years old. As a fan of Mariah Carey, she learned how to mimic her singing and later began writing her own songs, but during her final school year, she lost interest in it. She later worked at a supermarket.

In 2001, Rosie auditioned for “Pop Idol” and initially performed her own song called “Colours” to the judges. Although the judges were impressed with her vocals, judge Simon Cowell suggested that she should pick a more familiar song & Rosie sang a rendition of Mariah Carey’s song “Hero” which moved record producer Pete Waterman to tears.

Rosie made it to the top 50 in the competition, but was later voted out of the show, ultimately finishing in 6th place. Despite not winning the competition, Telstar Records signed Rosie to a five-album deal reportedly worth £1,000,000 and Rosie supported pop group Liberty X on tour.
blinkIn 2002, she released her debut single “Blink” which peaked at #12 on the U.K. Singles chart, making it her first top 20 hit in the United Kingdom.
a-little-bitRosie’s follow-up single, a cover version of Jessica Simpson’s song “A Little Bit” peaked at #19 on the U.K. Singles chart. Even though the follow-up single didn’t fare so well on the charts, Telstar Records began preparing to work on releasing Rosie’s third single.

Initially, Telstar Records chose the song “Good Thing” was chosen as the third single, but then decided to release a double A-side which would feature “Good Thing” and another song “Heaven.”

After Rosie supported music group Blue on their “One Love” tour, Telstar Records decided to release an all-new track that was supposed to be guaranteed to be a hit. Rosie recorded a modern-day remake of Dee-Lite’s hit song “Groove is in the Heart”.
misbehaving.jpgUnfortunately due to Telstar Records’ financial issues, Rosie’s record contract was subsequently terminated before the third single or her debut album “Misbehaving” could ever be released, leaving them ultimately shelved.

After that, not much was heard from Rosie until 2005 when she returned to the recording studio to work on new songs and an album. She only recorded three tracks which were supposed to appear on the new album, but neither the album or the singles were ever released.

In 2007, Rosie (who was now living in Dubbo, Australia) auditioned for “Australian Idol” with another original song of hers called “Butterfly Wings” and was accepted into the top 100. She later went on to make the top 24, but was eventually eliminated from the competition.
turning-pointAfter appearing on “Australian Idol,” Rosie returned to the United Kingdom to perform and record new music. In 2011, she released the single “Turning Point” (featuring MC Neat). A year later in 2012, Rosie was the featured vocalist on Alonestar’s song “Warrior”.

Since then, nothing much has been heard about Rosie’s music career and it’s unknown whether or not she plans on releasing new music in the near future.

Kaci Battaglia

kaci-battagliaKaci Battaglia (known by her stage name Kaci) (born Kaci Lyn Battaglia on October 3, 1987 in Clearwater, Florida) is a former female pop singer\songwriter from the 2000s.

As a child, Kaci began singing when she was 3 years old, often performing at her father’s karaoke club. By the time she was 8 years old, she was performing throughout Florida at concerts and sports events.
thousandstarsWhen she was 11 years old, Kaci independently released the album “A Thousand Stars” which was produced by her mother, Donna. A portion of the proceeds from the album went to help a housing project for the less fortunate. In 1999, she starred in the video, “Camp Tanglefoot: It All Adds Up.”

She later attracted the attention of record producer Joel Diamond after Kaci’s mother called & asked him to audition Kaci and Diamond put up his own money to record her.

After Diamond was turned down by over twenty record labels with the demo, “Paradise”, Mike Curb (the founder of Curb Records) heard the demo and told Diamond that he wanted to sign Kaci to the label.
paradise-singleIn 2001, Kaci released her debut single, “Paradise” (which was originally sung by actress Phoebe Cates in the 1982 film of the same name) which peaked at #11 on the UK Singles chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks.

The song also managed to peak at #43 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart and was played for the audience at the ESPN Super Bowl half-time show.
On June 12, 2001, she released her debut studio album, “Paradise” in the United Kingdom, Japan and Thailand. The album peaked at #47 on the UK Albums chart and sold nearly 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom; however, it only sold around 20,000 copies internationally.

tu-amor

The follow-up single from the album, “Tu Amor” peaked at #24 on the UK Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.
The third single, a cover version of The Partridge Family’s 1970 song, “I Think I Love You” peaked at #10 on the UK Singles chart, staying on the chart for 10 weeks.

After the single’s release, Kaci began touring with pop boy band, O-Town where she was the opening act during some of their stops in the United Kingdom and the United States.
The last single from the album, “Intervention Divine” was released in the United States as a promotional single, but it didn’t chart.
Due to the lackluster sales of Kaci’s debut album, she and her record company decided to re-release the album. On July 16, 2002, the album was released in the United States under the title, “I’m Not Anybody’s Girl” which peaked at #50 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
The title song was released as a single and peaked at #55 on the UK Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 2 weeks. It was also featured on the soundtrack to the 2003 film, “View from the Top”. In January of 2003, she performed the song at the Capitol One Bowl Halftime Show which received critical acclaim.
In order to help promote “I’m Not Anybody’s Girl” in the United States, Pepsi sponsored a tour for Kaci during the summer of 2002 where she delivered free concert performances in major shopping malls, spanning ten states. A promotional single, “Just an Old Boyfriend” was released, but didn’t chart.

After promoting the album, Kaci stated that she would be working on her follow-up album which was supposed to be released sometime in 2004; however, at the beginning of the year, she announced that she would be taking an unspecified amount of time off.
During her break from her music career, she focused on her personal life, did modeling and worked as a kickboxing instructor. In 2005, she was featured on the soundtrack to the film, “The Perfect Man” with the track, “I Will Learn to Love Again” which was released as a single, but didn’t chart.
In 2007, Kaci released the single, “Can’t Help Myself” which was released promotionally to dance music radio stations which managed to peak at #30 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks.

Afterwards, she announced that she would be working on a new single; however, word about her next album wasn’t confirmed at the time. She also wrote songs for singers Kimberley Locke and Lucy Hale.
In May of 2009, Kaci released the single, “Crazy Possessive” which topped Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Songs chart for a week in August of 2009 (staying on the chart for 14 weeks) and #19 on Billboard’s Global Dance Songs chart.

It also peaked at #4 on Billboard’s Dance\Mix Show Airplay chart. The song received criticism for sounding similar to Britney Spears’ 2008 song, “Womanizer.”
In July of 2010, she released her follow-up single, “Body Shots” (featuring Ludacris) which became her second number-one dance hit, topping Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Songs chart for a week in October of that same year, staying on the chart for 15 weeks.

The song also peaked at #23 on Billboard’s Global Dance Songs chart, #24 on Billboard’s Dance\Mix Show Airplay chart and #36 on Billboard’s Dance\Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.
On September 21, 2010, she released her sophomore album, “Bring It On” which had a digital release in the United States and a physical release in Japan. The album failed to make any impact on the charts at all.

In 2013, Kaci left Curb Records and retired from the music business. These days (according to research), she is a born-again Christian and an activist. She married her husband, Selleck Keene in February of 2016 and had a daughter in April of 2018. They currently live in Clearwater, Florida.
