John Kydd was a hi-NRG dance singer from the late ’80s. Not much information is given about him, but he was signed to Nightwave Records.
In 1987, he released his only single which was a cover version of the Supremes’ song “Up to the Ladder To the Roof” which featured backing vocals from three previous members of the Supremes: Cindy Birdsong, Lynda Laurence and Scherrie Payne.
It’s unknown how or if the song ever made the charts and after that, it seems as if John Kydd has faded into obscurity. It’s unknown what he’s currently up to these days.
